Dr. Dent Atkinson
A Slayton Attraction
DENT ATKINSON, Ph.D.
DR. ATKINSON is one of the strong men from across the sea. A scholar of wide and liberal learning, a linguist of marked ability and an orator whose message has been heard all over America.
Wherever he appears, at Chautauquas, Commencements, or on Lyceum courses, his audiences are charmed by his elegant diction, his clean cut thought, well bred humor, originality and eloquence. The advantage of world-wide travel has enriched his lectures with a wealth of interest apart from the living themes themselves.
As a Chautauqua attraction, Dr. Atkinson excels. A remarkable voice, a vital message to go with it, and a pleasing personality make him a favorite everywhere and the many committees where the Doctor has appeared are all agreed, that as platform manager, he stands peerless, and as Bible man, or popular lecturer, he always makes good, and to these commendations of the many, the Slayton Bureau gladly adds its own.

A. C. FOLSOM, Superintendent of Pontiac and Rockford (Illinois) Chautauqua Assemblies, and Secretary of International Chautauqua Alliance: —Dr. W. D. Atkinson is a most ready, brilliant and forcible speaker. He has an original way of expressing himself which holds the close attention of his audiences, gives them food for thought and leaves impressions and results which are uplifting and helpful. GEO. M. BROWN, D. D., Field Secretary C. L. S. C., Chautauqua, N. Y: —Dr. Atkinson's successful experience upon the platform, his extensive travel and his habits of observation, his devotion to study and his fluency of language his clever wit and appreciation of humor, qualify him to an unusual degree to please and profit his hearers.
REGISTER, Sandusky, Ohio
— The doctor has ususual intellectual breadth and remarkable power of translating ideal views into practical application. If imagination is the province of the speaker as well as the poet and painter, and if beauty and love are its handmaids and service its aims, then the doctor's lectures are a potent factor in the development of the imaginative and sympathetic among his hearers. Genius and an artistic composition, added to a faultless delivery and high ideals lived up to, make him a power on the platform. He is a teacher of the true measures of spiritual education.

The whole tenor of his discourse was on the better life, and his whole speech teemed with witty stories and striking similes.
