ISABELL BARLOW, Contralto LUCILE WILLIAMS, Pianiste
MAMIE WYNNE COX, Reader
Figure
ISABELL BARLOW, CONTRALTO, whose personal beauty and charm of manner, combined with her skill in interpretation, her knowledge of Indian character and her remarkable earnestness and sincerity, have made a most favorable impression wherever she is heard. She possesses unusually well placed tones and sings with a naturalness and grace most refreshing, bringing out the richness and fullness of a beautiful voice. Good schooling, style and enunciation are evidenced in all her work.
Figure
MAMIE WYNNE COX, READER, in a Wedge of Gold, brings a vital message and delivers it in an unmistakable and forceful manner. In miscellaneous reading she does not follow stereotyped lines, but brings such personality to her subject that she is different. In whatever sketch she appears every character is so really true that her hearers feel the innocency of childhood, the exuberance of boyhood, and the philosophy and ambition of age with equal force. In child dialect she is sweet and pure. In darkie dialect she is inimitable. Member of the I. L. A.
Figure
LUCILE WILLIAMS, PIANISTE, has had a large experience as pianiste and accompanist in concert and recital. She is an artist possessing a repertoire embracing many of the musical masterpieces from the classical to the ultra modern. Her sound musicianship and keen sense of interpretation, expressive delicacy and depth of feeling are winning everywhere the most enthusiastic recognition.

The Arion Trio is composed of three ladies who sing, read and play skilfully. Their programs can be depended upon to have sufficient variety not only to please, but satisfy their hearers. Such talent will assure large audiences. The lover of pure entertainment finds an evening recital by the Arions one of exquisite pleasure in music, song, and story, as each member stands for a high standard of professional excellence. A slight proof of the appreciation of the Arion's art may be found in the following criticisms, which are just a few of those that have been made in commendation of their work:
The ARION TRIO is a popular organization, all well-known artists, and have been filling a number of engagements throughout the State. The programs are interesting and artistically given and the TRIO is praised and complimented wherever it has been.—
Musicale, Dallas, Texas.
Lucile Williams has been associated with me in musical work. She is an accomplished and thoroughly musical pianiste of artistic merit and I cordially endorse her as a teacher.—
Emil Liebling.
The soloist gave numbers running the gamut of musical expression from the legato simplicity of MacDowell's Water Lily to the technically brilliant arrangement of Hark, Hark, the Lark, by Schubert and Liszt. In Schumann's Whims, there was opportunity of the personality and musical taste of the player to be well expressed and Lucile Williams made the most of the selection. The Leschetizky number in Octaves was executed with such success that the audience called for an encore.—
Dallas News.
Lucile Williams at the piano left little to be desired in supporting work. As is usual with her accompanying, she was accurate but subservient to the caprices of the soloist. In the lighter numbers where whispering winds or rippling dream fancies were to be enmeshed in music, her nimble fingers and delicate touch were equal to the demand.—
Dallas News.
The singer was accompanied by Lucile Williams, whose ability as a pianist is known to all who have heard her work. She played two instrumental numbers, one from D'Albert and the other from Moskowski, with the applausive appreciation from her hearers.—
Dallas News.
Isabell Barlow's recital in Field-Lippman Hall was most interesting. Her voice is a very rich contralto, her interpretation of the Finden Indian Cycle was particularly pleasing.—
Times-Herald.
A program of songs was given by Isabell Barlow. The program was varied, allowing wide opportunity for showing the singer's ability. Isabel Barlow has a rich contralto voice, which received the commendation of her hearers, particularly in Godard's Berceuse.—
Dallas News.
The Wednesday morning Choral Club gave a delightful concert at the Automobile Country Club. Isabell Barlow in Indian dress gave the Cadman suite of Indian songs with dramatic effect and artistic feeling.—
Dallas News.
Isabell Barlow, the contralto, disclosed a voice of pure contralto quality and much range and flexibility, her singing throughout was enjoyed.—
Phoenix (Arizona) Gazette.
Mamie Wynne Cox has a happy faculty of telling amusing stories and her impersonations are delightful.—
Viewpoint, Dallas.
The readings by Mamie Wynne Cox were excellent and after the entertainment she was highly complimented.—
Record-Chronicle, Denton.
Mamie Wynne Cox is a charming reader and greatly pleased her audience, and the committee in charge, as well as the large audience attending, desire a return engagement.—
Index, Willis.
The recital for the Fort Davis Fire Department was a great success. Mamie Wynne Cox, the reader, is a most affable entertainer and entirely loses her personality in each part and rhymes perfectly with her subjects. She takes you down on Kentucky plantations; then, in perfect contrast, carries you back to childhood's happy days, and you all but feel the patter of little feet.—
Fort Davis Post.
