Better to Hear of Laughter than of Tears, Since Laughter is the Natural Function of Man.

WOULD you be interested in having CAPTAIN IRVING O'HAY, United States Army (Retired), one of the original characters upon whom Richard Harding Davis based his Soldier of Fortune speak at your Convention, Banquet or Meeting?
Irvin Cobb describes Captain O'Hay as a Connoisseur of Wars, O'Hay having served in:
Cuba, 1897, Insurrectos under Maximo Gomez.
Cuba, 1898, Roosevelt's Rough Riders.
South Africa, Boer War—1899–1902 1st Barbant's Horse, Colonial Cavalry.
Balkans—1905. Foreign Legion of the Serbian Army.
Honduras—1907. Revolutionary forces under Lopez.
Nicaraugua—1907. Revolutionary forces under Zelanga

France—1914–15–16. P. P. C. L. I. Princess Pats.
France—Enlisted as private in 1917 U. S. Army (regular) retired as Captain 1920.
He has been wounded, decorated and has been all ranks from Private to General.
Captain O'Hay has a fund of wit and humor of the spontaneous kind that makes MEN THINK—AND LAUGH. Entertaining and inspiring, he is an assured asset on any program. He uses humor not merely for entertainment, but as a lever to open the way to men's minds and hearts. His humor sweetens and his philosophy enlightens.
His strong personality, rich and eloquent voice, animated and impressive delivery, have combined to give him an enthusiastic hearing wherever he has appeared and a welcome return engagement.
Captain O'Hay is as much at home before a popular audience as before the most intellectual bodies in the WORLD, before both of which he has spoken many times. His address can last from half an hour to an hour and one half.
In conclusion allow me to state that to prove to you beyond a question of a doubt that Captain O'Hay is all that I represent him to be I will sell you his services with the distinct understanding that if he is not all that I claim him to be he will not cost you one penny except his traveling and hotel expenses. That's fair enough—is it not?
If you are interested I shall be pleased to quote terms and open dates.
Very truly yours,
Thos Brady

A Few Opinions of Those Who Have Heard Him
Associations and Chambers of Commerce
THE SILK ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA New York
Captain Irving O'Hay kept his audience of 1400 members and guests entertained for 46 minutes although he had only been allotted twenty minutes' time. To say that he was a success is to put it mildly. I can truthfully state that I have never listened to a more entertaining speaker nor one who could better command the interest of his audience. Captain O'Hay is posessed of a spendid presence, a marvelous personality and a fund of wit and humor and he should go far on the lecture platform.
JAMES A. GOLDSMITH, President.
NATIONAL FURNITURE WAREHOUSEMEN'S ASSOCIATION
Chicago, Ill.
Captain O'Hay entertained the members of the Association jointly with the American Warehouseman's Association at a recent convention in Houston, Texas, attended by over 600 people, in a most interesting recital of his remarkable experiences. Notwithstanding his address concluded at 12:15 in the morning not a person left the room during the evening.
F. L. BATEMAN, President
THE MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION Bridgeport, Conn.
The manufacturers of Bridgeport will never forget that wonderful address Captain O'Hay delivered at our Annual Banquet. It was an epical masterpiece of war, adventure, romance, friendship, pathos and philosophy, interspersed throughout with irresistible humor.
ALPHEUS WINTER, Manager
AMERICAN SOCIETY OF STEEL TREATING Cleveland, Ohio
This was our fifth annual banquet and Captain O'Hay proved to be the best speaker we have had. I can unqualifyingly recommend him as a top liner on any occasion.
W. H. EISENMAN, National Secretary
AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS Lynn Section West Lynn, Mass.
Captain O'Hay's ability to see the humorous aspect in distressing circumstances that border on almost the tragic and his clear, cheerful, forceful method of presenting this viewpoint kept the members at our dinner in an almost constant uproar.
LEON E. SMITH, Chairman
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE GREATER WILKES-BARRE (Pa.)
Captain O'Hay as a humorous speaker has few if any equals. He proved to be the most entertaining speaker we have ever had in the history of our Chamber.
HAYDEN WILLIAMS, Secretary
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HAVERHILL (Mass.)
Captain O'Hay exercised the little used risibility muscles of some of our dignified business men so that liniment was necessary the next morning. It is officially reported that the physicians of the city noted an immediate cure of several cases of dyspeptic indigestion as a result of the hearty laughs engendered by the Captain's hard-luck stories. Honestly, he's a scream.
W. E. HARTWELL, Jr., Secretary
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FITCHBURGH (Mass.)
Of the many able speakers who have addressed this organization during the past fifteen years, no one of them has been more entertaining than Captain O'Hay.
F. L. BALL, Vice-President
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COTTON MANUFACTURERS Boston, Mass.
Captain O'Hay has a most novel and interesting story to tell. He tells it well. His humor is infectious, his presence fine and from what I know of him the modesty with which he presents his personal experiences adds not a little to the charm of the recital.
H. C. MESERVE, Secretary.
Associations and Chambers of Commerce
CARTHAGE (N. Y.) CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Captain O'Hay is an absolute knockout. We have had speakers here once a month and I don't believe anybody pleased our audience as well as Captain O'Hay. He is a sure-fire.
CHAS. J. MILES, Secretary
RUBBER TRADE ASSOCIATION OF NEW YORK
Captain O'Hay and his talk at our annual banquet so pleased his audience that the Dinner Committee has been overwhelmed with congratulations.
ROBERT L. BAIRD, Chairman, Dinner Committee
ASSOCIATED KNIT UNDERWEAR MANUFACTURERS OF AMERICA Utica, N. Y.
Captain O'Hay is a wonderful speaker and a remarkable personality. He held our people tight in their chairs for over two hours.
ROY A. CHENEY, Secretary
NORTH PHILADELPHIA (Pa.) REALTY BOARD
Were I to arrange a similar program again, my speakers would include: Captain Irving O'Hay CAPTAIN IRVING O'HAY CAPTAIN IRVING O'HAY
JOHN H. DALLAS, President
EMPLOYERS' ASSOCIATION OF HAMPDEN COUNTY Springfield, Mass.
Personally, I do not think there is a speaker in this country than can touch Captain O'Hay in his line and I do not know of a man in this country who could follow him successfully.
W. P. COTHARIN, Secretary
THE PHILADELPHIA (Pa.) ELECTRIC COMPANY
Captain O'Hay's message was put over in such a manner that while those present laughed heartily over his experiences he left much of the serious side for thought afterwards. Everyone had something to carry home and apply to the everyday life.
WM. H. EVANS, Editor, CURRENT NEWS
BUFFALO (N. Y.) HOTEL ASSOCIATION
Captain O'Hay is in my opinion one of the most brilliant after-dinner speakers I have ever listened to, and that covers in my professional career as hotelman and public speaker, almost the entire gamut of post-prandial oratory. An inexhaustible fund of humor, a brittle wit and in his more serious moments an orator that moves his audience to its very depth.
JOHN F. Mc. HOWIE, President
ROME (N. Y.) CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Captain O'Hay kept his audience laughing for an hour and a half and at the end of that time, they were eager for more. We consider him the best entertainer we ever heard.
E. D. BEVITT, Secretary
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TROY (N. Y.)
Captain O'Hay's smiling presence and most engaging personality places him in a position to interest and amuse an audience no matter how late the hour or how many speakers may have preceeded him on serious subjects. In Troy the whole town is talking about his speech.
G. W. LEMON, Managing Secretary
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SYRACUSE (N. Y.)
Syracuse's favorite out-of-town after dinner speaker, Captain O'Hay, engrossed 352 retailers at the annual dinner. The cognomen given Captain is particularly appropriate because this is the third time he has been brought to Syracuse within the last three months.
FREDERICK E. NORTON, Secretary
AMERICAN MARINE ASSOCIATION New York City
Captain O'Hay is a man of unusual ability, and his humorous address before our Association was thoroughly enjoyed by the entire audience. I have heard many entertainers, comedians and the like, but Captain O'Hay, in my opinion stands above all.
K. WARREN HEINRICH, Secretary
Associations and Chambers of Commerce
LONG ISLAND ASSOCIATION New York
The great success of our Long Island dinner was due first to our unique menu, composed of Long Island products and secondly to the entertainment afforded our guests by the peer of all after-dinner speakers, Captain O'Hay, who kept his audience in roars of laughter by his wit and world-wide experiences.
FRANK G. HOLLY, President
ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES OF MASSACHUSETTS Boston, Mass.
Captain O'Hay was not introduced until nearly 11 o'clock, due to the fact that the two previous speakers overran their time. After he was once on his feet his auditors were so thrilled with his story that nobody left the room. This would not be so much of an achievement in New York City, but unfortunately Bostonians have a habit of beginning to yawn and seek its downy couches about 10 o'clock.
O. L. STONE, General Manager
CHICAGO (Ill.) FURNITURE MANUFACTURERS' ASSOCIATION
Captain O'Hay, who speaks in a most entertaining manner, spins a wonderful tale of human interest, and altogether is one of the best after-dinner numbers we have had.
F. L. BATEMAN, Secretary
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE Northampton, Mass.
Captain O'Hay is a wonderful man. He is versatile to the extreme. His heart is in the right place and the philosophy that he presents is sound to the core.
CHAS. E. WESTERVELT, Ex. Secretary
THE WOONSOCKET (R. I.) CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Captain O'Hay's wonderful personality immediately secured the attention of our audience and by his humor, wit and pathos, he had them with him for two solid hours.
CHAS. E. SMITH, Managing Secretary
NEW JERSEY BANKERS' ASSOCIATION Group No. 1
Some time ago Captain Irving O'Hay was presented by the New York Society of Restaurateurs with a gold pass good for a meal in any of the member's restaurants in New York City.
On Thursday evening, when the mercury in the thermometer at Hotel Pines, Metuchen, was flirting with the 100 mark, he kept the members of Group No. 1, New Jersey Bankers' Association in such a happy frame of mind that I was afraid they might force upon him a flock of gold-engraved notes good for unlimited credit in any bank in Middle-sex County, New Jersey.
Captain O'Hay's interesting narration of his personal adventures, interpolated with humorous anecdotes, and with forceful facts that make men think, went big. We hope to have him with us again.
HAROLD G. HOFFMAN Secretary-Treasurer
NEW YORK SOCIETY OF RESTAURATEURS
I think you will be interested to know how Captain Irving O'Hay, United States Army (Retired) put it over last evening at the banquet of the New York Society of Restaurateurs at the Astor Hotel. I have listened to them all, from the Silver-Tongued Orator to the spellbinder on the street corner, and I have heard and seen hits, riots and panics, from Harry Lauder, in his palmy days down to Pat White, but never did I witness anything like last night.
Captain O'Hay is not just a humorist—but first of all a student and a philosopher. His humor refreshes and it also instructs, and leaves one something to carry home and apply to everyday life. He kept the banqueters in gales of laughter for over an hour.
PAUL HENKEL, President
THE NORTH CAROLINA PINE ASSOCIATION Norfolk, Va.
We were delighted to have Captain O'Hay with us. He has the vocabulary, the oratory and the ability to edify and entertain.
JOHN M. GIBBS, Secretary-Treasurer
Associations and Chambers of Commerce
AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF WOOLEN AND WORSTED MANUFACTURERS New York.
We have been staging banquets at the Waldorf for the past eighteen years. During these years we naturally have had many men in the foremost range of after dinner speakers, but during all that time we have had one speaker who in the general opinion of the members and guests of the American Association of Woolen and Worsted Manufacturers could be classed with Captain Irving O'Hay, who addressed us last night. He is no other than the late lamented John Kendrick Bangs.
We shall long and gratefully remember Captain Irving O'Hay.
J. J. NEVINS, Secretary.
THE FACE BRICK DEALERS ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA Des Moines, Iowa.
Capt. O'Hay gave to his audience one hour and fifty minutes of real pleasure. There were tears as well as smiles—deep thought as well as laughter.
The entire audience expressed themselves truthfully when they said they had heard one of the greatest after-dinner speakers of today. We are happy to have had the opportunity of hearing personally from a Soldier of Fortune.
R. W. TULLER, President.
LAUNDRY OWNERS NATIONAL ASSOCIATION Bridgeport, Conn.
Captain O'Hay has a message which he convincingly puts across, a strong and virile message of good Americanism, of good common sense, of toleration, of race prejudices and he makes an appeal for an observance of some religion which many a clergyman might envy and few can equal.
He holds his audience as few speakers do and at his conclusion here the audience arose en masse clapping vigorously and many said, It was the best thing ever.
G. E. CRAWFORD, Gen. Manager.
NEW HAMPSHIRE MANUFACTURERS' ASSOCIATION Lebanon, N. H.
Captain O'Hay's address came at the close of a busy day's session and many of our members had given previous notification that they would have to depart early on account of the long drives to their homes in different sections of the state. They paused, as one of them said, just to hear the start of Captain O'Hay's story but this story aroused such interest that they remained throughout the session.
Captain O'Hay made a very fine impression here. Not only is his personal story one of most intense interest but the little preachments which are interspersed with his humorous and dramatic narrations of historical events with which he has been personally connected, are full of good, sound common sense, which makes one feel all the better for having heard them.
ROWLAND B. JACOBS, President.
BUFFALO ASSOCIATION OF CREDIT MEN
He is a most unusual speaker. In this day of dinners and luncheon clubs it is refreshing to hear someone who is so different from the conventional after dinner-speaker. Captain O'Hay has an unusual story given in an unusual way.
We hold eight monthly dinners during the year and have had many notable speakers. None have been so talked about as Captain O'Hay. His humor is irresistible.
He talked to us for an hour and a half and held the attention of a somewhat sophisticated audience which is quite fed up on luncheon and dinner speakers.
I wish to thank you for putting us in touch with Captain O'Hay.
H. C. FERRELL, Secretary
ILLINOIS FURNITURE WAREHOUSEMEN'S ASSOCIATION Chicago, Ill.
Every one was immensely pleased, deeply interested and want to hear Captain O'Hay again. He tells a remarkable story in a most interesting manner and leaves his audience with a most pleasant impression.
JOSEPH H. MEYER, President
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE Beverly, Mass.
Captain O'Hay spoke at the Annual Dinner of the Beverly Chamber of Commerce and is positively the best speaker ever brought to this city. He held his audience spellbound for nearly two hours and the whole city is talking about his speech this morning. There is one drawback in having the Captain as a speaker. It will be a man's size job to obtain a speaker of his calibre at our Annual Meeting of next year.
HENRY S. ARCHER, Sec.-Manager.
WASHINGTON SOCIETY East Orange, N. J.
The entertaining and instructive lecture which Captain Irving O'Hay gave the Washington Society and their friends last evening, will be remembered for a long time in East Orange.
The humor and sparkle with which he describes his many adventures, make him a most delightful entertainer, and expressions of the deepest satisfaction were heard on all sides. We cannot speak too highly of Captain O'Hay.
W. H. KELLY, Chairman, Entertaining Committee.
TEXTILE MANUFACTURERS' ASS'N Philadelphia, Pa.
Everyone was enthusiastic over the manner of Captain O'Hay's message and his presentation.
EDWARD S. BANISTER, Secretary
NEW ENGLAND HOTEL ASSOCIATION
I cannot speak too highly of Captain Irving O'Hay's address to our New England Hotel Association members at their banquet at the Equinox House, Manchester, Vermont, on June 8th. He kept the entire audience in a roar of laughter for an hour and a half, and from my observation not one person left the hall during his speech, and it was unusually late when we called upon him, so that under ordinary circumstances many people would have gone out. I can recommend him to any company desiring a good after dinner speaker, in the highest terms.
WM. M. KIMBALL, Secretary
NEW YORK BANKERS' ASSOCIATION, Group 7
It affords the writer considerable pleasure to write you just a word of commendation upon the very capable manner Captain Irving O'Hay addressed the Annual Meeting of our Group, which was held at the Garden City Hotel on the evening of May 26th.
Captain O'Hay held his audience from the very moment he started to address them, and I have heard nothing but very commendable reports concerning his address.
GEO. D. SMITH, Chairman
COAL MINING INSTITUTE OF AMER. Pittsburgh, Pa.
As an after-dinner speaker Captain O'Hay is a rare treat.
RICHARD MAIZE, President
NORTHERN BANKERS ASSOCIATION
I am taking this opportunity of expressing my appreciation of the service you rendered in procuring for us a humorous speaker at Woodstock, May 18th, Captain Irving O'Hay, U. S. Army, retired.
Captain O'Hay gave very good satisfaction. He has a large fund of wit and humor which was appreciated very much by all.
C. L. Le BOURVEAU, President
THE YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION Coatesville, Pa.
Captain O'Hay has the best story of adventure and thrilling experience that has ever been told from our platform and he knows how to tell it. His humor sweeps an audience and his rapid-fire manner of address commands attention.

Captain O'Hay's address was complete in every particular from start to finish. It was one of the best it has been my pleasure to hear.

EDWIN B. LORD, Manager

Captain O'Hay's talk on Life and Laughter was pronounced by the 600 people present to be one of the best they ever listened to. Captain O'Hay has a remarkable message and one that no American can afford to miss.
W. B. STAYER, Secretary
WEST VIRGINIA BANKERS ASSOCIATION
I feel that our Association is much indebted to you for sending us Captain Irving O'Hay, who delivered a humorous address before our Association on the evening of August 23rd.
Captain O'Hay is a man of unusual ability and has the happy faculty of holding the attention of his audience.
Captain O'Hay's vivid description of his wanderings and his many wonderful experiences was entertaining from the start to finish.
The address, coming as it did at the closing of our session, after we had spent two days in discussing economic problems and matters of weighty importance to the Bankers, was a relief and relaxation.
Any audience would certainly be critical and hard to please if they found fault with a high class entertainment such as this. We are pleased indeed to write you this on behalf of the Captain.
J. S. HILL, Secretary
ENGINEERING SOCIETY PROVIDENCE (R. I.)
Captain O'Hay created more enthusiasm in Providence than has ever been created by a speaker of his kind.
SAMUEL D. FITZSIMMONS
CYCLE TRADES OF AMERICA
It gives me great pleasure to assure you that Captain Irving O'Hay, who addressed the Cycle Trades of America, at the annual dinner and meeting last February, at Hotel Astor, is quite the most interesting and forceful speaker ever included in such a program for the Cycle Trades of America.
Captain O'Hay is more than a speaker—he is a personality.
Captain O'Hay is more than a humorist. He is an adventurer—who has seen and done all those things that every man inwardly longs to see and to do; and Captain O'Hay shares this experience with his audience in such a way that the thrill of actuality is not lacking.
I heartly recommend Captain O'Hay as a speaker, a humorist—a man for men.
FRANK T. CHASE, Committee of Arrangements
CITY OF WEST HOBOKEN, N. J.
I was present at the Banquet of the Summit Avenue Business Men's Association and never enjoyed a humorous speech more than the one delivered by Captain Irving O'Hay. I have heard many entertainers, comedians and the like, but Captain O'Hay, in my opinion, stands above all. I am only too pleased to recommend him to anyone who might have an occasion to employ him, because I know that after they have heard him they will not feel that they did not receive their money's worth. I hope that I have the pleasure of hearing the Captain again, as he is surely a tonic for anyone.
WM. G. WELLER, Mayor

Captain O'Hay's speech was really exceptional, full of humor, but with occasional touches of sincere pathos, and was tumultuously acclaimed.

I can faithfully endorse Captain O'Hay as capable of providing a refreshing entertainment.

His pleasing personality, forceful delivery and fascinating humor make him a most extraordinary speaker. Many of our bankers say he is the best we have ever had.
ANSEL P. VERITY, Secretary and Treasurer.

Captain O'Hay is a very attractive and humorous speaker.
May I suggest that, when he is employed you make your program, as far as other people are concerned, a brief one. Captain O'Hay should be allowed thirty or forty minutes. In my opinion it is well worth while for an audience wishing to be entertained. It is a very attractive feature.

I have heard Captain O'Hay speak several times and have never heard a more interesting, amusing, agreeable and forceful speaker.

Let me assure you that the speech you delivered at the City Club was one of the best that we have ever heard there. Seldom have we had a speaker whose address was afterward so generally discussed and with such interest and enthusiasm. I wish there were ten thousand like you delivering that speech a dozen times a day.
JOHN W. RAPER.
I had the pleasure of hearing Captain O'Hay speak at many banquets. Now, you know that a banquet is a dinner which you always leave with a healthy appetite. Banquets are held generally because some well-known man is going to spend the next five years in Africa. So his New York friends get together to thank him.
Captain O'Hay and myself have often spoken together at numerous affairs and I have always arranged for a spot in the sun before the O'Hay started in to shine. He is what we call a tough number to follow. His brilliance, humor, knowledge of men and his experience gained from seven wars and a theatrical career, cause other speakers to sound as if they were broadcasting a Mongolian lament through a heavy Russian beard.
He has what is known in the army as the power of command. Which includes appearance, bearing, voice, gesture, and that indefinite something which commands attention.
When you add humor to these influential ingredients, you have a speaker who could follow William Jennings Bryan, Demosthenese and Chauncey Depew. And make them all sound as if they hadn't said anything.
Yours semi-officially, ARTHUR BUGS BAER Author of Seeing America through a Glass Eye.
My friend, Captain Irving O'Hay is a remarkably efficient after dinner speaker. He has a sense of humor, a gift for narrative and fine presence, with plenty of personality and the mysterious thing called magnetism.

It has been my good fortune to hear after dinner speakers, lecturers and men of statesmanship and ability, but I do not remember any particular case wherein I feel that I was ever more impressed by any one than I was by Captain O'Hay in his talk. Your invitation for Friday evening was the most worthwhile to me of any invitation I remembered in Waterloo. I wish to indicate my appreciation.
2.
Your after dinner speaker (Captain O'Hay) was a knock-out so to speak, and I think he made us all look at life a little different. He certainly was fine.
3.

4.

There is just enough seriousness to make us all enjoy the laugh just so much more. The hour and a half which he spoke seemed but thirty minutes and all would have willingly stayed another hour to hear the Captain's story, a most remarkable story and one that cannot nor never will be equalled by another man. The Captain's smile, his charming personality had our large audience in his grasp from the very first and held them until the very last. There was not a dull moment in the entire speech.
J. VICTOR SCHAD, President
ROTARY CLUB OF SYRACUSE (N. Y.)
Captain O'Hay's appearance before this organization was an entire success.
FRANK W. WEEDON, Secretary
ROTARY CLUB OF CLEVELAND (Ohio)
Captain O'Hay addressed this Club for two hours and five minutes last night with over three hundred men in the banquet hall and not a man left before he finished. That tells the story here. As an after-dinner speaker for a large red-blooded men's organization or mixed parties, he proved a huge success with us.
FRED SOWERS, Secretary.
I know of no greater compliment that could be paid to Captain O'Hay than a statement that during the last ten years of the Rotary Club we have had many very eloquent speakers but his talk far exceeded any that has ever been given before the Cleveland Rotary Club.

ROTARY CLUB OF NIAGARA FALLS Niagra Falls, N. Y.
Captain O'Hay said he did not have a message but I can assure you it was the biggest message ever delivered to our club and I am looking forward to the time when we can use him again to a packed house.

Everyone who atended was more than enthused and thrilled and implored O'Hay to continue.
EUGENE F. SOWERS
Captain O'Hay has appeared twice in Jamestown, New York, this year. At his first appearance before the Rotary Club, the made a big hit and at the annual meeting of the Jamestown Automobile Club, he held his audience spell-bound.
The fact that many Jamestowners have listened to Captain O'Hay twice within a short period is the best evidence of his ability to entertain.
CHAS. H. WIBORG
THE WHITEHALL CLUB New York
Captain O'Hay held his audience for an hour and a half and no one realized that so much time had passed. Combined with a real human message he had a delicious humor.
W. D. LYON Chairman, Entertainment Committee
GYRO INTERNATIONAL Cincinnati, Ohio
Captain O'Hay held two hundred business and professional men spell-bound for two hours. I have never in my life heard any speaker so universally commended.
The Captain's philosophy has a vein all its own, and this coupled with the humorous touch he gives to his remarkable experiences should make him the most sought after-dinner speaker in America.
LAURENCE C. WITTEN, President
DUPLAN ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION Hazleton, Pa.
His humor is refreshing and without any effort kept his audience in good humor and laughter for over an hour.
W. H. DIETRICH, Chief Engineer
THE EXECUTIVES' CLUB OF CHICAGO (Ill.)
Captain O'Hay spoke before our six hundred members for one and a half hours and at the end of that time the audience wanted him to go on. Our usual speech is forty-five minutes, but in this case, the big business men of Chicago who heard Captain O'Hay at this meeting, would not let him stop, nor would they go back to their business until after 2:30.
RAY WARREN
BOOSTER CLUB OF FRICK COUNTY Waynesboro, Pa.
Words fail to express the pleasure enjoyed by 2000 people who heard Capt. O'Hay. The Captain has by his rapid-fire eloquence and his keen humor, won a place for himself in the hearts of all who heard him and left no place in the sun for any other speaker who has preceded him here.
L. ASHWORTH, President
THE BALD-HEAD CLUB OF AMERICA Waterbury, Conn.
Few of the men, if any, will ever forget that remarkable address by Captain O'Hay. Personally, I think it was the greatest thing I ever heard. Besides being screamingly funny, it contained a world of good sound philosophy of living and certainly fitted in admirably with the purpose and ideals of our organization.
GEORGE W. GREENE, President
THE WOMENS CLUB OF WOODBRIDGE (N. J.) TOWNSHIP
Captain O'Hay talked to a cosmopolitan audience, delighting every one who was fortunate enough to hear him. He so cleverly interwove clear and concise thoughts and a huge fund of general knowledge with inimitable humor leaving his audience with one regret that his address must close.

I wish to say that I had the pleasure of listening to Captain Irving O'Hay at the Restaurateurs banquet recently held in the Hotel Astor.
I must say he is a very able speaker and one that can hold an audience and he also gets off some very humorous incidents.
COL. C. G. HOLDEN, Manager

Captain O'Hay's talk was more than a knock-out. It was a riot. Needless to say, all the men were enormously interested and all the old ladies were not only interested but fascinated.
He introduced just the proper number of Hells and Damns to lend spice, without in the least becoming offensive to the most prudish. Everybody enjoyed his talk enormously. More power to him.

Captain Irving O'Hay was one of the entertainers at Columbian Council's 100th anniversary dinner held recently, and his rapid and humorous description of his experiences as a soldier of fortune was greatly enjoyed. His talk is bright and novel, replete with wit, and delivered with a dash and snap that rivets attention. I can honestly recommend Captain O'Hay to any society wishing a form of entertainment out of the beaten path.

EARL L. COONEY, Chairman
INGERSOL WALTHOUR POST AMERICAN LEGION Philadelphia, Pa.
In behalf of the Ingersol Walthour Post of the American Legion, I wish to express their appreciation of the splendid talk by Captain O'Hay on Armistice night.
It was over-flowing with Celtic humor and pathos, which kept the men spellbound with intermitant bursts of laughter. His intermingling of the serious and the witty surpasses any talk I have ever heard. Above all, in his plea for world peace he brought forth the importance of training our young men not only that they might be ready for any emergency, but to develope their physical and mental well-being. Together with his stressing tolerance of creed and race, he brought forth the importance of being optomistic and not taking life too seriously, bringing home to each of us the strain and worry of our American life.
I personally have never listened to such a worthwhile talk and will take every opportunity to hear him again.
THEODORE LeBOUTILLIER, Commander.

SOUTH ORANGE-MAPLEWOOD New Jersey KIWANIS CLUB
Last evening we had very many pleasant duties to perform in the way of toasting out-going officers and rewarding them with gifts, and welcoming our new officers, and they are truly a great set of men; but Captain O'Hay really brought the whole affair to a most wonderful and fitting climax.
In spite of a prompt seven o'clock start, the various functions delayed the Captain's speech until ten-thirty, and when I tell you that an audience of approximately 75 men sat enraptured and spell bound for over one hour and forty five minutes, drinking in the wonderful philosophy of Captain O'Hay (and then were disappointed because he was practically compelled to stop) I am probably paying this gentleman of fortune as fine a compliment as could any after-dinner speaker desire. The writer has had a fair experience in various social functions, including many banquets throughout most of this country, but never did I attend an affair which ended with such exceptional satisfaction on the part of all in attendance as the performance last night. Captain O'Hay is truly an outstanding character, and those who are not fortunate enough to hear him, surely are missing one of the real treats of this world. Every man within the sound of his voice last evening went away a more cheerful and better person for having been present. This is saying a great deal, but is not sufficient to properly describe the effect of the Captain's enchanting personality. He has a wonderful view of life, but best of all, he is not content to keep it to himself, but is continually spreading a gospel which is equal by few, and excelled by none, at least as far as the writer has experienced.
RAYMOND CONNOLLY, Chairman Entertainment Committee.
CONGRESS LAKE CLUB Hartville, Ohio
Captain O'Hay has a way of driving home good wholesome truths and at the same time not hurting anyone. His type of humor is irresistible.
C. B. REED, General Manager
THE CONTEMPORARY CLUB Indianapolis, Ind.
Captain Patrick Irving O'Hay spoke before an audience which for more than a decade has been developing a discriminating taste by hearing the World's most famous men and women. He won in a walk. Not only did he tell one of the most interesting stories that it has ever been our pleasure to hear, but he told it so well that he captured the complete attention of the Club for two hours—an unprecedented occurrence with our organization. He is a rare combination of saint and daredevil with an inexhaustible sense of humor. I do not believe it would be possible to assemble an audience anywhere that he could not interest and entertain.
MYRON R. GREEN, Secretary.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD CLUB Bala-Cynwyd, Pa.
Captain Irving O'Hay spoke to more than 300 at our annual banquet—since when Thanksgiving turkey, foot ball and cross-word puzzles have given way to complimentary discussions on Captain O'Hay and his talk.
He spoke for two hours and then they did not want him to stop. No one thought he had spoken so long—and afterwards no one cared. Before that night I would not have believed that any man could hold an audience fascinated, spellbound and eager for more during all of such an interval; but Capt. O'Hay did it.
His wit and histrionic ability kept the crowd swept by gales of laughter. And he also had a real message, a worth while plea, which he put across and was strongly applauded.
He got the crowd at the start, he held them, and he still has them. And I wish for all my friends that may hear a talk from Capt. O'Hay.
CARL P. BIRKINBINE, President.

Copyright, 1925, by THOMAS BRADY. WOULD you be interested in having CAPTAIN IRVING O'HAY, United States Army (Retired), one of the original characters upon whom Richard Harding Davis based his Soldier of Fortune speak at your Convention, Banquet or Meeting? Irvin Cobb describes Captain O'Hay as a Connoisseur of Wars, O'Hay having served in: Cuba, 1897, Insurrectos under Maximo Gomez. Cuba, 1898, Roosevelt's Rough Riders. South Africa, Boer War—1899–1902 1st Barbant's Horse, Colonial Cavalry. Balkans—1905. Foreign Legion of the Serbian Army. Honduras—1907. Revolutionary forces under Lopez. Nicaraugua—1907. Very truly yours, Thos Brady P. S.—Captain O'Hay's subjects are WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS—MORE HUMOR,AMERICANIZATION,LIFE AND LAUGHTERCO-OPERATION—An ideal talk that deals with the many important problems that confront the employer and employee, and drives home a powerful lesson; and various other extemporized addresses to fit every occasion. Assigned subjects a specialty. A Few Opinions of Those Who Have Heard Him Associations and Chambers of Commerce THE SILK ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA New York Captain Irving O'Hay kept his audience of 1400 members and guests entertained for 46 minutes although he had only been allotted twenty minutes' time. NATIONAL FURNITURE WAREHOUSEMEN'S ASSOCIATION Chicago, Ill. F. L. BATEMAN, President THE MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION Bridgeport, Conn. The manufacturers of Bridgeport will never forget that wonderful address Captain O'Hay delivered at our Annual Banquet. It was an epical masterpiece of war, adventure, romance, friendship, pathos and philosophy, interspersed throughout with irresistible humor. ALPHEUS WINTER, Manager AMERICAN SOCIETY OF STEEL TREATING Cleveland, Ohio This was our fifth annual banquet and Captain O'Hay proved to be the best speaker we have had. I can unqualifyingly recommend him as a top liner on any occasion. W. H. EISENMAN, National Secretary AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS Lynn Section West Lynn, Mass. Captain O'Hay's ability to see the humorous aspect in distressing circumstances that border on almost the tragic and his clear, cheerful, forceful method of presenting this viewpoint kept the members at our dinner in an almost constant uproar. LEON E. SMITH, Chairman CHAMBER OF COMMERCE GREATER WILKES-BARRE (Pa.) Captain O'Hay as a humorous speaker has few if any equals. He proved to be the most entertaining speaker we have ever had in the history of our Chamber. HAYDEN WILLIAMS, Secretary CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HAVERHILL (Mass.) Captain O'Hay exercised the little used risibility muscles of some of our dignified business men so that liniment was necessary the next morning. It is officially reported that the physicians of the city noted an immediate cure of several cases of dyspeptic indigestion as a result of the hearty laughs engendered by the Captain's hard-luck stories. Honestly, he's a scream. W. E. HARTWELL, Jr., Secretary CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FITCHBURGH (Mass.) Of the many able speakers who have addressed this organization during the past fifteen years, no one of them has been more entertaining than Captain O'Hay. F. L. BALL, Vice-President NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COTTON MANUFACTURERS Boston, Mass. Captain O'Hay has a most novel and interesting story to tell. He tells it well. His humor is infectious, his presence fine and from what I know of him the modesty with which he presents his personal experiences adds not a little to the charm of the recital. H. C. MESERVE, Secretary. Associations and Chambers of Commerce CARTHAGE (N. Y.) CHAMBER OF COMMERCE Captain O'Hay is an absolute knockout. We have had speakers here once a month and I don't believe anybody pleased our audience as well as Captain O'Hay. He is a sure-fire. CHAS. J. MILES, Secretary RUBBER TRADE ASSOCIATION OF NEW YORK Captain O'Hay and his talk at our annual banquet so pleased his audience that the Dinner Committee has been overwhelmed with congratulations. ROBERT L. BAIRD, Chairman, Dinner Committee ASSOCIATED KNIT UNDERWEAR MANUFACTURERS OF AMERICA Utica, N. Y. Captain O'Hay is a wonderful speaker and a remarkable personality. He held our people tight in their chairs for over two hours. ROY A. CHENEY, Secretary NORTH PHILADELPHIA (Pa.) REALTY BOARD Were I to arrange a similar program again, my speakers would include: Captain Irving O'Hay CAPTAIN IRVING O'HAY CAPTAIN IRVING O'HAY JOHN H. DALLAS, President EMPLOYERS' ASSOCIATION OF HAMPDEN COUNTY Springfield, Mass. Personally, I do not think there is a speaker in this country than can touch Captain O'Hay in his line and I do not know of a man in this country who could follow him successfully. W. P. COTHARIN, Secretary THE PHILADELPHIA (Pa.) ELECTRIC COMPANY Captain O'Hay's message was put over in such a manner that while those present laughed heartily over his experiences he left much of the serious side for thought afterwards. Everyone had something to carry home and apply to the everyday life. WM. H. EVANS, Editor, CURRENT NEWS BUFFALO (N. Y.) HOTEL ASSOCIATION Captain O'Hay is in my opinion one of the most brilliant after-dinner speakers I have ever listened to, and that covers in my professional career as hotelman and public speaker, almost the entire gamut of post-prandial oratory. An inexhaustible fund of humor, a brittle wit and in his more serious moments an orator that moves his audience to its very depth. JOHN F. Mc. HOWIE, President ROME (N. Y.) CHAMBER OF COMMERCE Captain O'Hay kept his audience laughing for an hour and a half and at the end of that time, they were eager for more. We consider him the best entertainer we ever heard. E. D. BEVITT, Secretary CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TROY (N. Y.) Captain O'Hay's smiling presence and most engaging personality places him in a position to interest and amuse an audience no matter how late the hour or how many speakers may have preceeded him on serious subjects. In Troy the whole town is talking about his speech. G. W. LEMON, Managing Secretary CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SYRACUSE (N. Y.) Syracuse's favorite out-of-town after dinner speaker, Captain O'Hay, engrossed 352 retailers at the annual dinner. The cognomen given Captain is particularly appropriate because this is the third time he has been brought to Syracuse within the last three months. FREDERICK E. NORTON, Secretary AMERICAN MARINE ASSOCIATION New York City Captain O'Hay is a man of unusual ability, and his humorous address before our Association was thoroughly enjoyed by the entire audience. I have heard many entertainers, comedians and the like, but Captain O'Hay, in my opinion stands above all. K. WARREN HEINRICH, Secretary Associations and Chambers of Commerce LONG ISLAND ASSOCIATION New York The great success of our Long Island dinner was due first to our unique menu, composed of Long Island products and secondly to the entertainment afforded our guests by the peer of all after-dinner speakers, Captain O'Hay, who kept his audience in roars of laughter by his wit and world-wide experiences. FRANK G. HOLLY, President ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES OF MASSACHUSETTS Boston, Mass. O. L. STONE, General Manager CHICAGO (Ill.) FURNITURE MANUFACTURERS' ASSOCIATION Captain O'Hay, who speaks in a most entertaining manner, spins a wonderful tale of human interest, and altogether is one of the best after-dinner numbers we have had. F. L. BATEMAN, Secretary CHAMBER OF COMMERCE Northampton, Mass. Captain O'Hay is a wonderful man. He is versatile to the extreme. His heart is in the right place and the philosophy that he presents is sound to the core. CHAS. E. WESTERVELT, Ex. Secretary THE WOONSOCKET (R. I.) CHAMBER OF COMMERCE Captain O'Hay's wonderful personality immediately secured the attention of our audience and by his humor, wit and pathos, he had them with him for two solid hours. CHAS. E. SMITH, Managing Secretary NEW JERSEY BANKERS' ASSOCIATION Group No. 1 Some time ago Captain Irving O'Hay was presented by the New York Society of Restaurateurs with a gold pass good for a meal in any of the member's restaurants in New York City. HAROLD G. HOFFMAN Secretary-Treasurer NEW YORK SOCIETY OF RESTAURATEURS I think you will be interested to know how Captain Irving O'Hay, United States Army (Retired) put it over last evening at the banquet of the New York Society of Restaurateurs at the Astor Hotel. PAUL HENKEL, President THE NORTH CAROLINA PINE ASSOCIATION Norfolk, Va. We were delighted to have Captain O'Hay with us. He has the vocabulary, the oratory and the ability to edify and entertain. JOHN M. GIBBS, Secretary-Treasurer Associations and Chambers of Commerce AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF WOOLEN AND WORSTED MANUFACTURERS New York. BUFFALO ASSOCIATION OF CREDIT MEN He is a most unusual speaker. H. C. FERRELL, Secretary ILLINOIS FURNITURE WAREHOUSEMEN'S ASSOCIATION Chicago, Ill. Every one was immensely pleased, deeply interested and want to hear Captain O'Hay again. He tells a remarkable story in a most interesting manner and leaves his audience with a most pleasant impression. JOSEPH H. MEYER, President CHAMBER OF COMMERCE Beverly, Mass. EDWARD S. BANISTER, Secretary NEW ENGLAND HOTEL ASSOCIATION I cannot speak too highly of Captain Irving O'Hay's address to our New England Hotel Association members at their banquet at the Equinox House, Manchester, Vermont, on June 8th. WM. M. KIMBALL, Secretary NEW YORK BANKERS' ASSOCIATION, Group 7 It affords the writer considerable pleasure to write you just a word of commendation upon the very capable manner Captain Irving O'Hay addressed the Annual Meeting of our Group, which was held at the Garden City Hotel on the evening of May 26th. Captain O'Hay held his audience from the very moment he started to address them, and I have heard nothing but very commendable reports concerning his address. GEO. D. SMITH, Chairman COAL MINING INSTITUTE OF AMER. Pittsburgh, Pa. As an after-dinner speaker Captain O'Hay is a rare treat. RICHARD MAIZE, President NORTHERN BANKERS ASSOCIATION I am taking this opportunity of expressing my appreciation of the service you rendered in procuring for us a humorous speaker at Woodstock, May 18th, Captain Irving O'Hay, U. S. Army, retired. Captain O'Hay gave very good satisfaction. He has a large fund of wit and humor which was appreciated very much by all. C. L. Le BOURVEAU, President THE YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION Coatesville, Pa. Captain O'Hay has the best story of adventure and thrilling experience that has ever been told from our platform and he knows how to tell it. His humor sweeps an audience and his rapid-fire manner of address commands attention. J. D. HOFFMAN, Executive Secretary REAL ESTATE BOARD CLEVELAND (Ohio) Captain O'Hay's address was complete in every particular from start to finish. It was one of the best it has been my pleasure to hear. F. B. BICKMAN, Secretary Associations and Chambers of Commerce CHAMBER OF COMMERCE JERSEY CITY, N. J. President Hoos speaks in the highest terms of the work done by Captain O'Hay. His address was thoroughly enjoyed by the entire audience and Mr. Hoos has no mental reservations when he commends Captain O'Hay to the various consideration of any organization. EDWIN B. LORD, Manager RETAIL LUMBER DEALERS ASSOCIATION OF PENNSYLVANIA Pittsburgh, Pa. Captain O'Hay's talk on Life and Laughter was pronounced by the 600 people present to be one of the best they ever listened to. Captain O'Hay has a remarkable message and one that no American can afford to miss. W. B. STAYER, Secretary WEST VIRGINIA BANKERS ASSOCIATION I feel that our Association is much indebted to you for sending us Captain Irving O'Hay, who delivered a humorous address before our Association on the evening of August 23rd. J. S. HILL, Secretary ENGINEERING SOCIETY PROVIDENCE (R. I.) Captain O'Hay created more enthusiasm in Providence than has ever been created by a speaker of his kind. SAMUEL D. FITZSIMMONS CYCLE TRADES OF AMERICA It gives me great pleasure to assure you that Captain Irving O'Hay, who addressed the Cycle Trades of America, at the annual dinner and meeting last February, at Hotel Astor, is quite the most interesting and forceful speaker ever included in such a program for the Cycle Trades of America. FRANK T. CHASE, Committee of Arrangements CITY OF WEST HOBOKEN, N. WM. G. WELLER, Mayor DRUG & CHEMICAL ASSOCIATION Chicago Ill. Captain O'Hay's speech was really exceptional, full of humor, but with occasional touches of sincere pathos, and was tumultuously acclaimed. A. C. STEPAN, President NORTHEASTERN RETAIL LUMBERMENS ASSOCIATION Rochester, N. Y. As a story teller, as a humorous, as an orator Captain O'Hay takes first rank. PAUL S. COLLIER, Sec.-Manager Associations and Chambers of Commerce THE FEDERAL TITLE & TRUST CO. Beaver Falls, Pa. We were very much gratified indeed to have Captain Irving O'Hay address our Annual Clearing House Dinner. It is needless to say the Captain O'Hay is a most interesting speaker. His wit and humor, together with the account of his travels and war experiences puts his address in a class by itself. W. W. POTTS, Vice-President and Treasurer. BOSTON NATIONAL BANK CASHIERS' ASSOCIATION Boston Mass. I can faithfully endorse Captain O'Hay as capable of providing a refreshing entertainment. JOHN W. MARNO, President. THE INDIANA BANKERS ASSOCIATION Indianapolis. The Indiana bankers and their ladies were delighted with Captain O'Hay. He puts over a very clever address in a most forceful way. FORBA McDANIEL, Assistant Secretary. NEW YORK STATE BANKERS ASSOCIATION Group VII. Captain O'Hay's address was well received by all, not only his remarks in a humorous vein, but also those of a more serious trend. We overheard a great many favorable remarks regarding him. His pleasing personality, forceful delivery and fascinating humor make him a most extraordinary speaker. Many of our bankers say he is the best we have ever had. ANSEL P. VERITY, Secretary and Treasurer. AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF BANKING Philadelphia Chapter. Captain O'Hay entertained in his usual happy vein, keeping his audience of about 1300 delightfully entertained in the recital of his service in many wars and his many amusing stories were received with gales of laughter. CHAS. A. FALOON, Chairman Speakers' Committee. MASSACHUSETTS MUTUAL LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY Springfield, Mass. Captain O'Hay is a very striking individual and has a deep sense of humor and a wonderful grasp of his subject. He made a most decided hit with our people. JOSEPH C. BEHAN, Superintendent of Agencies. Such Popularity Must be Deserved NEW YORK STATE BANKERS ASSOCIATION Group V. Although the program was late in starting and the Captain's speech did not start until nearly eleven, he held the entire audience of 530 members for over an hour and nothing but words of commendation were heard. W. C. FEATHERS, Chairman. BUREAU OF ENVELOPE MANUFACTURERS OF AMERICA New York. We all enjoyed Captain O'Hay very much and I shall be very glad to recommend him without qualification to any other organization who is anxious to secure a speaker who will lift them out of the rut of every day life and every day thoughts. C. R. STEVENSON, Secretary-Treasurer. Opinions of Prominent People GENERAL OF THE ARMIES Washington, D. C. I was present at the Shriner's Banquet at which Captain O'Hay was Master of Ceremonies and where he spoke briefly a number of times. … I was impressed by his manner and his appearance on that evening. JOHN J. PERSHING UNITED STATES SENATE Washington, D. C. ROYAL S. COPELAND I have heard Captain O'Hay speak several times and have never heard a more interesting, amusing, agreeable and forceful speaker. JAMES W. GERARD EX-AMBASSADOR TO GERMANY GEO. M. COHAN PRODUCTIONS In my opinion Captain O'Hay is a great talker, and his personality is one which commands attention. GEORGE. M. COHAN THE CLEVELAND PRESS Let me assure you that the speech you delivered at the City Club was one of the best that we have ever heard there. IRVIN S. COBB CITY OF NEW YORK Office of the President of the Board of Alderman President Hulbert has asked me to say that in his opinion Captain Irving O'Hay, United States Army (retired), is a very clever man with a pleasing personality and has a way of putting things over on an audience. The President does not know Captain O'Hay personally, but has heard him speak. T. T. McENERY, Chief Examiner. Opinions of Prominent People POWER PACKING PLANT Nashville, Tenn. It has been my good fortune to hear after dinner speakers, lecturers and men of statesmanship and ability, but I do not remember any particular case wherein I feel that I was ever more impressed by any one than I was by Captain O'Hay in his talk. I consider him one of the best entertainers before the American public today. ROBERT E. POWER, President COMPTON & KNOWLES LOOM WORKS Worcester, Mass. The evening that Captain O'Hay spent with us recently will always be remembered as a land mark in the annals of our conferences. It was the unanimous opinion that a pleasanter evening had never been spent by this group of men. HOMER EDGE, JR. Supply Sales Manager. THE RATH PACKING COMPANY Waterloo, Iowa. Your invitation for Friday evening was the most worthwhile to me of any invitation I remembered in Waterloo. I wish to indicate my appreciation. 2. ARMOUR & COMPANY Chicago, Ill. I do not think I have heard a more interesting or stirring speech and when I looked at my watch when it was over and saw the time he consumed, it was hard to believe. I do not think there was a man in the room that would not have been glad for Captain O'Hay to go on for another couple of hours. PHILIP D. ARMOUR 1st Vice-President AGAR PACKING AND PROVISION COMPANY Chicago, Ill. I do not know how to express in words what a thrill Captain O'Hay's address gave me. I recommend him to any gathering no matter where it is held, and also will guarantee whoever hears him will say the same as a great many I heard—Wonderful. JAMES S. AGAR, President INTERSTATE PACKING COMPANY Winona, Minn. I have not enjoyed any speaker as much in a long time as I did Captain O'Hay. His address was extremely interesting and illuminating. P. A. JACOBSON, President PICKANDS, MATHER & CO Cleveland, Ohio. Captain O'Hay is a very impressive speaker and his fund of humor and his ability to relate personal anecdotes was very much appreciated. NOYES B. PRENTICE, Purchasing Agent. ADDRESSOGRAPH Chicago, Ill. We have been literally deluged with compliments from everyone who heard Captain O'Hay. To illustrate: At the conclusion of Captain O'Hay's hour and a half talk, I could have listened to him for another hour and know I would have enjoyed every word—stated our President Mr. J. S. Duncan. Captain Irving O'Hay's humorous remarks makes men laugh and think. He provided a treat for us in his address before five hundred workers, raising a half million dollars for our Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital Campaign. We have never had an address in Johnstown that occasioned more favorable comment than Captain O'Hay's. I want to thank you personally for suggesting the Captain's name. J. H. LEPPERT, Secretary ROTARY CLUB OF NEW BEDFORD, (Mass.) Captain O'Hay's talk before the Rotary Club on the occasion of its annual Ladies' Night was most pleasing to everyone. Despite the fact that many of those present had heard the Captain once and in some instances twice before, the audience was loth to let him finish. It was a great pleasure to have him with us and we feel he has a real Rotary message of value. G. LeROY BRADFORD, Secretary KIWANIS CLUB OF BINGHAMTON (N. Y.) Captain O'Hay gave the finest, most entertaining address ever delivered before this Club or any similar organization in this city. There is just enough seriousness to make us all enjoy the laugh just so much more. The hour and a half which he spoke seemed but thirty minutes and all would have willingly stayed another hour to hear the Captain's story, a most remarkable story and one that cannot nor never will be equalled by another man. WEEDON, Secretary ROTARY CLUB OF CLEVELAND (Ohio) Captain O'Hay addressed this Club for two hours and five minutes last night with over three hundred men in the banquet hall and not a man left before he finished. A. H. GREELEY Clubs and Fraternal Orders ROTARY CLUB OF NIAGARA FALLS Niagra Falls, N. Y. Captain O'Hay said he did not have a message but I can assure you it was the biggest message ever delivered to our club and I am looking forward to the time when we can use him again to a packed house. CHARLES WOODWARD, President. AMERICAN LEGION C. H. Berry Post, No. 173 Tamaqua, Pa. Everyone who atended was more than enthused and thrilled and implored O'Hay to continue. EUGENE F. SOWERS Captain O'Hay has appeared twice in Jamestown, New York, this year. At his first appearance before the Rotary Club, the made a big hit and at the annual meeting of the Jamestown Automobile Club, he held his audience spell-bound. The fact that many Jamestowners have listened to Captain O'Hay twice within a short period is the best evidence of his ability to entertain. CHAS. H. WIBORG THE WHITEHALL CLUB New York Captain O'Hay held his audience for an hour and a half and no one realized that so much time had passed. Combined with a real human message he had a delicious humor. W. D. LYON Chairman, Entertainment Committee GYRO INTERNATIONAL Cincinnati, Ohio Captain O'Hay held two hundred business and professional men spell-bound for two hours. DIETRICH, Chief Engineer THE EXECUTIVES' CLUB OF CHICAGO (Ill.) RAY WARREN BOOSTER CLUB OF FRICK COUNTY Waynesboro, Pa. Words fail to express the pleasure enjoyed by 2000 people who heard Capt. O'Hay. The Captain has by his rapid-fire eloquence and his keen humor, won a place for himself in the hearts of all who heard him and left no place in the sun for any other speaker who has preceded him here. L. ASHWORTH, President THE BALD-HEAD CLUB OF AMERICA Waterbury, Conn. GEORGE W. GREENE, President THE WOMENS CLUB OF WOODBRIDGE (N. J.) TOWNSHIP Captain O'Hay talked to a cosmopolitan audience, delighting every one who was fortunate enough to hear him. G. H. WOOD AMERICAN LEGION Providence Post No. 1. Providence, R. I. Captain O'Hay is a man of unique ability; his humor combined with his knowledge of the world's experience, is a priceless fortune. EARL L. COONEY, Chairman INGERSOL WALTHOUR POST AMERICAN LEGION Philadelphia, Pa. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS Dayton, Ohio Captain O'Hay was wonderful and all those attending testified to the same statement. He has been the subject of conversation the past two days and many regrets are being heard from absentees. OSCAR H. BROKER. SATURN CLUB Buffalo, N. Y. Captain O'Hay talked for just one hour and fifty minutes and held the attention of a hundred odd men for every second of that time. R. T. WHEELER, Chairman Entertainment BUFFALO (N. Y.) ATHLETIC CLUB Captain O'Hay's appearance was one of the most satisfactory entertainments given this winter. Captain O'Hay's intensely interesting talk, his humor and his gentlemanly qualities have made him a lasting favorite here. J. F. SEARS, Executive Secretary Clubs and Fraternal Orders SOUTH ORANGE-MAPLEWOOD New Jersey KIWANIS CLUB Last evening we had very many pleasant duties to perform in the way of toasting out-going officers and rewarding them with gifts, and welcoming our new officers, and they are truly a great set of men; but Captain O'Hay really brought the whole affair to a most wonderful and fitting climax. CONGRESS LAKE CLUB Hartville, Ohio Captain O'Hay has a way of driving home good wholesome truths and at the same time not hurting anyone. His type of humor is irresistible. C. B. REED, General Manager THE CONTEMPORARY CLUB Indianapolis, Ind. THE PAST MASTERS' ASSOCIATION OF THE 18th MASONIC DISTRICT OF NEW JERSEY Camden, N. J. Everyone was unanimous in expressing their pleasure at having heard Captain O'Hay's address. W. B. MACKEY, President Clubs and Fraternal Orders APOLLO CLUB Brooklyn, N. Y. Captain O'Hay seems to violate all accepted rules of an after-dinner speaker and the one rule which he violates most successfully is the tendency to be tiresome. W. W. FITZHUGH BRITISH EMPIRE CLUB Providence, R. I. Captain O'Hay is a very forceful speaker, tells a good story and while the address in humorous, he gives us food for thought. SPENCER H. OVER, President Schools and Religious Organizations ST. BERNARD'S PREPARATORY SCHOOL 4-12 East 98th St. New York Captain O'Hay's lecture here was a very great success. He truly was a great success and just the man needed to start off our season's program WM. H. HEBERT. WEST END PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH New York City Captain O'Hay's lecture was illuminating and well received. He observed the proprieties of the occasion and yet his lecture lost none of these highly amusing features which so delighted me when I first heard it. A.
