Born in Lancashire, Eng., educated in New York, travelled in all parts of the world, Miles is a cosmopolitan. A success as a preacher, author, newspaperman and world-traveller, helectures in all parts of the English-speaking wold. His lecture, Tallow Dips, is unique.

One of Canada's most brilliant speakers, regular attendant at Washington Conference, a guest of the British Admiralty when the German Fleet was surrendered at Scapa Flow, and student of world affairs, Dr. Runnells will speak on Naval Defense and Disarmament.

SCENES FROM THE MIRTHFUL COMEDY, IT PAYS TO ADVERTISE
Presenting on the Four - Day Circuit the same play that was given with such success on the Six-Day Circuit last summer, the Elias Day Players of Chicago will appear in the most successful laugh-maker of the century, It Pays to Advertise. Drawing large audiencesin all English-speaking cities, it has held the boards for 10 years. The play abounds in humorous situations that have an appeal for everybody, and many lines of the play are heard on all sides on the street next morning—such as Let's Think! Born in England of Scotch parents, the wife of a Frenchman, and living in the United States, have contributed to Mrs. Beyea's information, presented in her lecture, Four Corner-stores of Citizenship. One of the most gifted woman speakers on the continent.

NOAH BEILHARZ
A headline attraction wherever he appears; presenting character sketches in makeup and costuming—all put on in view of the audience—Beilharz is as good as the best play. For twenty years he has appeared before thousands of audiences in Canada and United States.

HENDERSON ENTERTAINERS
With ensemble work, both vocal and instrumental, sketches, readings, comedy numbers, impersonations, and the Harry Lauder imitations of Walter Henderson, these three versatile young men will prove a big, popular hit, giving a program more varied than most male quartets.

CHILDREN'S CLOWN
Part of the children's program will be given by Stevens, the clown of New York City. Playing all sorts of musical instruments, getting music from almost everything imaginable, including articles on a well-set dinner table. The biggest laugh of the week.

CHAVEZ CONOVER CO.
Miss Conchita Chavez, Spanish coloratura soprano; Mr. Keith Conover, baritone; Miss Martha Ives and Miss Mae Berlin, readers and story tellers, are scheduled for the afternoon of the second day. Spanish songs in Spanish costumes by Miss Chavez feature the program.

LITTLE MISS SHRODE
Another feature of the children's entertainment are the stories, songs, imitations, dances and whistling numbers by Alice Louise Shrode, the finest child entertainer known to Chautauqua One of the laugh-hits of the week. Her mother plays her accompaniments.

THE CASFORD-REED VIOLIN GIRLS
Each summer some attraction bigger and more expensive than during the former summers is presented at Chautauqua. Here it is for this season in the Violin Girls, a company sponsored by Mr. Thurlow Lieurance, the noted American musician and composer. Specially arranged orchestral selections chosen from the classics, as well as lighter and popular numbers, make up the programs. These handsome young women are clever entertainers, featuring the comedy, The Country Dance, specially costumed. Several changes in costuming are made. The company is headed by Miss Lillian Reed, pianist and flautist, and Miss Winifred Casford, violinist Selections with four violins and flute will reveal that this combination produces very beautiful effects.

Business men will believe so after hearing this play, whether they ever thought so before or not. At large cost for royalty and with an expensive cast of players, Elias Day of Chicago is producing this comedy for the Dominion Chautauquas.
