The Famous Hearons Sisters
T
HE demand for a company of musical artists capable of presenting a programme which shall measure to the standard of the most cultivated musician, and of such character and variety as to be pleasing to both a Lyceum and Chautauqua audience, is fully met in the Hearons Sisters Concert Company, of New York City. These talented sisters have appeared from the Atlantic to the Pacific coast, two concert tours in Panama, also a successful season in Europe, where they appeared before Royalty. Each member is an artist doing individual work of high order, their ensemble is unexcelled, and together they form a delightful combination of musical and histrionic talent. Miss Anna Hearons is a skilled pianiste and mandolinist; Miss Frances is a violiniste of rare ability; Miss Charlotte an artist on the clarinet; while Miss Winifred, the cornetist, is also a talented reader. Several seasons of successful public work has firmly established their reputation, and the fact that the personnel of the Company remains the same from year to year insures that this high standard of excellence will be maintained.
Opinions of the Press
NEW YORK.—The Hearons Sisters have a finish in their interpretations and a dash in their manner that make them a rare combination and most charming entertainers.—
Herald.
NEW YORK.—An artistic programme rendered by the well-known Hearons Sisters was enthusiastically received.—
Times.
LONDON.—The Hearons Sisters, four talented Americans, played with exquisite harmony and precision of instrumentation.—
Daily Mail.
DUBLIN.—The Hearons Sisters of America, proved to be artists of ability and were warmly applauded.—
Evening Telegraph.
BROOKLYN, N. Y.—The series of entertainments to be given by the Central League of the Central Congregational Church, Dr. Cadman, was begun last night. A musical programme, interspersed with readings, was well rendered by the Hearons Sisters Concert Company before a large audience. Both the concerted numbers and the solos were rendered with great artistic taste and charmed the audience, whose enthusiasm increased as the programme proceeded. The march given by the String Quartette was excellent, and the Southern airs by the orchestra proved to be very popular. The violin solos by Miss Frances Hearons were so excellent that she was recalled several times.—
Daily Eagle.
STAMFORD, CONN.—The concert was a brilliant performance on the part of four sisters who have unusual musical talents, and have developed their natural gifts until they have reached a high degree of perfection.—
Daily Advocate.
PHILADELPHIA.—A programme delightful in variety was given by the Hearons Sisters of New York.—
Inquirer.
KALAMAZOO, MICH.—Miss Winifred Hearons' monologues contributed a most enjoyable part of the evening's programme.—
Gazette.
BRISTOL, TENN.—Before the largest audience that has attended the Chautauqua this season, the Hearons Sisters Concert Co. rendered one of the most delightful musical and literary programmes heard in Bristol in many a day. A violin concerto by De Berost found great favor with the hearers. One of the most popular numbers was the medley of Southern airs, and when the orchestra as a climax broke into a spirited rendition of Dixie enthusiasm knew no bounds. The sisters have become popular not only for their ability as entertainers, but for their charming personalities as well.—
Evening News.
OSKALOOSA, IOWA.—The biggest musical treat of the Chautauqua course were the preludes given by the Hearons Sisters of New York, during the last two days and the grand closing concert Friday night. These four talented young ladies are most attractive, appearing beautifully gowned, and in manners graceful and modest. Their programmes furnished more variety than that of any other company appearing here this season. Miss Winifred, perhaps the most versatile one of the four, delighted the audience not only in her cornet and mandolin playing, but as a reader. The musical glasses were introduced as one of their novelty numbers.—
Daily Herald.
Commendatory
CULEBRA, PANAMA.—On behalf of the Young Men's Christian Associations on the Canal Zone, I wish to thank you and each member of your company for your series of concerts which you have just concluded on the Isthmus. You have furnished high-grade entertainment that has been well received by large audiences, and you have made many friends wherever you have gone on the Isthmus. Such entertainment is a necessary diversion for our Americans employed here, and thus I congratulate you on the successful part which you have had in the construction of the Panama Canal.
—
A. Bruce Minear, General Secretary, 1909.

NEW YORK.—The Hearons Sisters Concert Company has furnished entertainment on many occasions at the West Side Branch. They have come not only with great artistic ability, but with a spirit that has made us want to welcome them again and again to our platform.
—
Walter T. Diack, Secretary, West Side Y. M. C. A.
BROOKLYN, N. Y.—The Hearons Sisters Concert Co. have appeared many times for us at the Y. M. C. A., and on at least a dozen battleships at the Marine Barracks. They always give a pleasing, well-balanced programme and have never failed to interest the men who have heard them. No other entertainers in New York are more popular among the men of the navy.
—
W. L. Tisdale, Secretary, Navy Y. M. C. A.
BUFFALO, N. Y.—The Hearons Sisters Concert Company rendered an excellent programme of instrumental music at the men's meeting of the Central Department of the Buffalo Y. M. C. A. to a crowded house.
—
A. H. Whitford, Secretary.
SHELBYVILLE, ILL.—If you desire a unique, high-class musical attraction, a feature that will delight and satisfy your audiences, secure the Hearons Sisters Concert Company. Their entertainments are so varied and novel that even Chautauqua audiences (proverbially critical) are always pleased. The Hearons Sisters are indeed a great attraction.
—
J. C. Westervelt, Pres. Shelbyville Chautauqua.
BROOKLYN, N. Y.—One of the greatest treats at Assembly Park was while listening to the Hearons Sisters. Their music was artistic, delightful and executed with great ability.
