4 Columns Line Cut Mat. No. 1
Depicting a quintette of Imperial Hawaiian Singers. Each unit of the attraction, A TRIP TO THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS, is accompanied by a troupe of this kind.
This deluxe film and musical combination occupies twenty minutes on stage and screen. The fast moving and beautifully colored film is the feature of the presentation. The quintette of IMPERIAL HAWAIIAN SINGERS synchronize their music to the scenes of the picture, but are not featured. By keeping them in the dark we maintain the suspense until the end, when they appear in the spotlight. Through experience we have perfected the attraction until it is near perfect and its unique method of presentation has made it the consistent box office magnet that it is. We therefore consider it inadvisable to alter the original method of presentation.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
We played the William Aldrich HAWAIIAN ACT at the metropolitan Theatre and it received the best comments from our patrons that the theatre has had for some time on any act that has been played here. It is a very unusual act -- novel, and exceptional entertainment.
In my opinion I don't believe there is a house in this country in which the act will not go over.
It is a real pleasure for me to recommend this act to anybody
who can book it.

Mr. William F. Aldrich,
Manager, Trip To Hawaii
Dear Mr. Aldrich:-Congratulations on one of the finest and most talked about entertainment features this theatre has ever played.
I refer to A Trip to the Hawaiian Islands as interpreted by your company of imperial Hawaiian entertainers. It is indeed one of the moat refreshing novelties that has come into show business in a long time.
Your pictures are remarkable in their photography, coloring and beauty. No finer music has been heard in this theatre than that of your Imperial Hawaiian
and the combination of the two features strikes a new note in entertainment.
Equally gratifying was the reception accorded your attraction at the box office, which, after all, is the ultimate test.
Sincerely yours,
Manager, World Theatre

Dear Mr. Aldrich:
This is so let you know that your stage and screen specialty, A Trip to the Hawaiian Islands, with the original Imperial Hawaiian Serenaders, is proving to be one of the biggest box office bets of the year for us. Reports from our managers indicate that this presentation is receiving more favorable comment and is playing to bigger business than any specialty of its kind we have used in many months. Incidentally, its drawing power has been a revelation to us, as we, at first, were inclined to question the box office value of an Hawaiian presentation.
We are now arranging a continued route for you over Midwest which will represent our full playing time and will communicate with you tomorrow when the dates will have been set.
My confidence in your presentation was certainly substantiated by Mr. A. J. Balaban when he booked you into the Chicago Theatre for a five week tour over the Balaban Katz Circuit. I am certain that the show will prove as agreeable an experience for him as it was for me.
Sincerely yours,

San Francisco Call.–The feature picture of William F. Aldrich's A TRIP TO THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS, fully realizes its announcement as `The most beautiful film of the day.' It almost beggars description.
San Francisco Bulletin.–Truly worthy of the feature position on any theatre program is William F. Aldrich's A TRIP TO THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS. This is the type of photoplay that any audience loves to see, but seldom gets.
San Francisco Examiner.–One of the most impressive bits of film screened at a San Francisco theatre in months. It is to be especially commended.

San Francisco Daily News.–The week's best screen production is William F. Aldrich's A TRIP TO THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS. If you have ever been to the islands or if you are planning some day to make the trip, by all means don't miss this Aldrich picture at the California theatre.
Los Angeles Times.–I wish they would refrigerate all the sizzling mammas and the caliente kids of the jazz bands, and take a leaf out of the Metropolitan book, and give us nothing but that hypnotizin, mes-merizin, Hawaiian Music. If our managers are going to stage a revival of the Hawaiian craze they have my vote on it.
Los Angeles Daily News.–Frank L. Newman has proven beyond a doubt his ability as a showman. His first program at the Metropolitan is a knockout. Mr. Newman offers William F. Aldrich's A TRIP TO THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS, accompanied by a troupe of real Hawaiian Singers. To miss this one feature would be to pass up one of the most beautiful things ever shown on the screen. The pictures are wonderful and the accompanying music even better if that could be possible.
Los Angeles Examiner.–AT THE METROPOLITAN THEATRE you will see the most fascinating of all travelogues. To miss this would be to miss the most beautiful offering of the year.

Reno Gazette of Reno, Nev.–William F. Aldrich's A TRIP TO THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDSand 'Aldrich's Hawaiian Songbirds' is positively the best performance ever placed upon the picture screen of this city.
Omaha World Herald.–William F. Aldrich's unusual entertainment. A TRIP TO THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS,headlines the fall opening bill at the World Theatre this week. William F. Aldrich, whose pictures of world wonders are at the… theatre this week.William F. Aldrich, adventurer, artist, globe-trotter, has done in celluloid what the old masters did with brush and oil. To say that he is a motion pi-ture cameraman would be as much an error as to call Rembrandt a photographer. With his camera he brings to the screen in glorious proportions the wonders of the universe. No beaten path he follows, but from the queer out-of-the-way places brings to live on the screen the romance of people and environments which we of this prosaic business world would meet only in books.
As the official photographer of the Japanese government, Mr. Aldrich went into the heart of the ruins caused by the great earthquake and fire and from its still smoldering embers brought back the only complete records of tears and devastation.
Many other pictures of equally great importance as public records have been made by Mr. Aldrich.
The artist that he is, he turned from the horrors of earthquakes and the heart-rending scenes of death to paint with his master brush the unequaled glories of Hawaii, the Paradise of the Pacific. Five years were spent in the undertaking, where one less anxious to do full justice to this land of everlasting sunshine might have completed his work in a month's time.
A Trip to the Hawaiian Islands, as Mr. Aldrich calls his masterpiece, is being shown this
week at the… theatre, embellished with an atmospheric setting composed of sweet sing-ers, who with their sweet melodies of Hawaii, hold one closely to the atmosphere of the land where opal waves play on a sandy beach.

DON'T CONFUSE THIS WITH VAUDEVILLE ACTS
It is a motion picture, beautifully photographed and colored. The Polynesian singers are used to heighten the atmosphere, holding all spellbound, as they do, within the darkened theatre with their quaint and hypnotizing songs and music. It is the presentation of the whole that makes it unique.
