SWISS HAND BELL RINGING QUARTET
The Metropolitan Glee Club is the oldest, in point of continuous service, of any Swiss bell ringing organization in America. More popular than ever.

Mr. Gates organized The Metropolitan Glee Club and he has directed its activities and kept the company on the high plane that it has always occupied.
N. F. PETERS, Second Tenor
Mr. Peters has entertained in his old home—Merry England and Scotland. Of recent years he has traveled much in Canada and the United States.
L. H. WAITE, Basso
Mr. Waite includes in his repertoire arias from popular operas, Negro spirituals. A real bass with a cultivated voice makes a real quartet.
F. J. TIERNAN, Baritone and Pianist
Mr. Tiernan possesses a delightful sense of humor, and a voice particularly adapted to four part harmony. He is especially adept in sentimental and ballad singing.
The Metropolitan Glee Club
An Historical Sketch
THE METROPOLITAN GLEE CLUB was organized by its present manager, Mr. F. M. Gates, and gave its first concert in September, 1912. It has been one of the busy, ever-at-it musical organizations ever since. Up to the opening of its present annual tour the company has presented 3,560 programs for Lyceum and Chautauqua audiences. The company has toured most of the United States and Canada and everywhere the reports showed delighted audiences and satisfied committees.
The Personnel of The Metropolitan Glee Club with each member a trained musician and an experienced artist in his line, guarantees the future success of the organization.
MR. GATES organized his first quartet when he was a lad sixteen years of age. He served three years as a member of another quartet before he organized The Metropolitan Glee Club. He studied voice under D. A. Clippenger and A. W. Cords, both of Chicago, and held a number of important Church positions before he entered the professional ranks.
MR. WAITE is a graduate of the American Conservatory of Music, Chicago, and was awarded the Gold Medal Prize for Singing at the time of his graduation. His repertoire ranges from arias from Operas to Negro Spirituals. And in addition to his solos he possesses a real quartet Bass voice which is as popular as it is rare.
MR. TIERNAN received most of his musical training in Houston, Texas, finishing his study at the Sherwood Musical College, Chicago. He is an artist of splendid ability.
He has been especially favored with a sympathetic voice that lends itself to sentimental ballads, with a strong liking for the popular Irish melodies.
MR. PETERS comes from England where he studied under the best teachers at Manchester Musical College. He has entertained much in England and Scotland. Of recent years he has been a favorite in Canada. He left a splendid church position at Toronto to join The Metropolitan Glee Club.
With such a strong personnel there is every reason to expect a real musical and entertainment treat when The Metropolitan Glee Club appears. The members are more than artists in music and song, they are the soul of music itself—they live it and give it.

We have no hesitancy in saying that the Metropolitan Glee Club was a decided success. The opera house was full when the curtain went up and from that moment to the last number the large audience was held spell bound by the skill of the four members of the organization and the wonderful variety of their program. They are entertainers in the full sense of the term.—

The Metropolitan Glee Club closed our course and certainly left a good flavor for our entire winter course of entertainment. It was one of the most delightful entertainments we have ever had here. The program was varied enough to suit the wishes of every individual present.

RECORD CROWD
Last night was given by the Metropolitan Glee Club the second number of our Lecture Course. Their program was fine in every way; it was without question the best musical program ever given in our city. If they can be secured for another time they will be greeted with a still larger house. The house that did meet them was the largest here for several years. People were in attendance from all directions.—

PROGRAM PLEASES
Despite the fact that the baggage of the club had been sent to the wrong place, it was about 10 o'clock before the program started, but everyone kept sweet and were well repaid for waiting. The program given was of the highest type, and each member did well his part. It was so highly appreciated that there has come a request that they appear on next year's program.—

BEYOND EXPECTATIONS
The third number of the lecture course was given by the Metropolitan Glee Club Monday evening. Their program of one hour and forty-five minutes more than measured up to expectation. Several patrons say it was worth the price of a season ticket. There was plenty of good classical music, some popular selections and many humorous numbers. One marveled how easily the audience was carried from the ridiculous to the sublime. The Metropolitan can certainly come again.—

PROGRAM WORTH WHILE

The entertainment given last evening by Metropolitan Glee Club was complete in every detail. It was the best balanced program ever heard here.
