S. PLATT JONES
ENTERTAINER
HUMORIST
CHARACTER-STUDY MAN
Figure
Exclusive Management: Chicago-Mutual, Chicago; Co-Operative, Omaha; Columbian, St. Paul
S. PLATT JONES has been three years under our exclusive management, in the West, and as we present him for the fourth season, we are warranted in saying that his demand and success will be greater than ever. We can truthfully say that universal satisfaction has been the report from all engagements the past three years. His humor is clean cut, his readings ring with that true dramatic art that is certain to please. In his character studies,—which are a feature of his programs,—you hear and see only the character he assumes. Feeling confident of his success, we with pleasure present S. PLATT JONES to the entertainment-loving public with our full endorsement.

PERSONALITY AND INDIVIDUALITY are two strong factors that spell success for an entertainer before an audience.
S. Platt Jones, the entertainer, certainly is what he is advertised to be. Not only did he entertain, but he pleased the audience. Mr. Jones, in his character sketches is superior to any one that has appeared in Poynette.—
Poynette Press, Poynette, Wis.
S. Platt Jones was down on the bills for an entertainer. That's what he was. His readings were excellent, his character sketches were more than that.—
The Mount Holly News, Mount Holly, N. J.
LYCEUMITES represent the best in entertainment and the Entertainer or Concert Company that enters the field with a low standard is soon gone and forgotten.
S. Platt Jones is a volume of wit, and his quick shifts of expression from humor and folly to tragedy and sentimentalism have never been equalled in Hallock. The name of S. Platt Jones will long be remembered in our town.—
Hallock Weekly News, Hallock, Minn.
S. Platt Jones of Syracuse, N. Y., gave an entertainment at Farley Hall that was genuinely excellent. Jones is the funniest fellow you ever heard tell of, and he can come back to Farley any old time, and be assured of a hearty welcome.—
The Farley News, Farley, Iowa.
ARTISTS who paint a word picture true to life always find a place to hang it on memory's wall and are long remembered.
S. Platt Jones will make one laugh in spite of himself; his manner is original and Jones will long be remembered in Dallastown.—
The Dallastown Advocate, Dallastown, Pa.
Mr. Jones' ability to furnish an entertainment that will be recalled with pleasure is so good that he will be welcomed at any time.—
The Otsego Journal, Mt. Upton News.
The continued applause accorded S. Platt Jones at the M. E. Church last night plainly demonstrated his ability as an all-'round entertainer. For an hour and a half Mr. Jones moved the large audience from laughter to tears, from humor to pathos.—
Milton Globe, Milton, North Dakota.
TRYING TO PLEASE an audience is a long way toward pleasing.
Mr. S. Platt Jones of Syracuse, N. Y., entertained a large audience in Frisbie Hall. It is not an easy task for one man to be the whole entertainment, especially when the railroad company has whisked your trunk and paraphernalia away to parts unknown, as was Mr. Jones' misfortune; but he demonstrated that he was equal to the occasion and for two hours delighted the people with his humorous selections and splendid readings, and when at the close, he related the affair of the trunk, everyone felt glad it was the trunk, and not Mr. Jones, that had been carried away.—
The Hartland News, Hartland, Wis.
S. Platt Jones gave one of the most enjoyable entertainments we ever have had in Mulberry. Every number was fine.—
The Reporter, Mulberry, Ind.
Syracuse Masonic Hall was filled, and all enjoyed the entertainment provided by S. Platt Jones. His impersonations were excellent and his readings natural and pleasing.—
Syracuse Herald, Syracuse, N. Y.
TO-DAY an audience demands of the entertainer, if he expects to please them, plenty of action, climax upon climax, and tireless programs.
The S. Platt Jones entertainment at the Opera House was very satisfactory to the large audience assembled. Mr. Jones entertained the audience to the fullest every minute, and he is considered one of the best that ever appeared in town.—
The Bangor Advance, Bangor, Mich.
S. Platt Jones pleased the audience immensely if we are to judge by their many hearty encores. We consider him an impersonator of great ability. A feature of his entertainment was his lightning change of make up.—
Edgerton Earth, Edgerton, Ohio.
JULY AND AUGUST, 1909, we have the exclusive management of MR. JONES for Chautauqua work; that department is under the direction of Alfred L. Flude. Chautauqua managers will make no mistake in placing MR. JONES on their list of attractions for one full program, and period work for the balance of a week, at least. As a platform manager he is a decided success, having managed the Keuka Park, N. Y., Assembly for two years, and jointly managed the Assembly Park, N. Y., Chautauqua for three years. We guarantee satisfaction in S. PLATT JONES to any Chautauqua.

ORIGINALITY cropping out here and there in an entertainer's program gives to an audience a restful freshness.
Everybody enjoyed the jokes and fun Mr. Jones offered and he proved himself an all-'round entertainer, a little less conventional in his style and manner than is usual in entertainers, which was an agreeable change.—
The Naples News, Naples, N. Y.
S. Platt Jones was refreshing in his monologues and especially fine in his impersonations from Eben Holden.—
Doylestown Daily Intelligencer, Doylestown, Pa.
NATURALNESS in an entertainer is as essential as knowing what you are to say; having one and not the other, makes effort a failure.
It is doubtful if a Clinton audience was ever better entertained than last evening by S. Platt Jones. Mr. Jones has two strong points that recommend him for the platform,—first, his intense personality; second, his naturalness.—
Rock County Banner, Clinton, Wis.
S. Platt Jones in his impersonation of Eben Holden was very original and interesting, which with make-up and naturalness made a decided hit.—
Jefferson County Journal, Adams, N. Y.
EXPECTATION means much to entertainer and audience,—the latter expects a pleasing program, the former, if he has the ability, meets their expectations, and his popularity is assured.
MGR. LECTURE COURSE, HALLOCK, MINN.
Dear Sir: I am enclosing cutting from our local paper relative to S. Platt Jones and his entertainment. It was highly appreciated here. He pleased, pleased all the time, and pleased abundantly.
Yours for success,
H. M. ARMSTRONG, Prin. Milton H. S., Milton, N. Dakota
S. Platt Jones entertained delightfully the three hundred guests at the Business Men's Association Banquet in Masonic Temple last evening. He is very clever in impersonations and character work.—
The Elmira Star Gazette, Elmira, N. Y., Jan. 14, 1908.
SUCCESS in life is the aim of all; it does not come by the mere asking, but by effort and much sacrifice.
The entertainment by S. Platt Jones was a decided success. Mr. Jones is a very pleasing entertainer, and all who did not hear him missed a treat.—
The Observer, Celina, Ohio.
