OBERT FRIERS has already seen enough action for a half-dozen lifetimes, wandering all over the world as a vagabond reporter, photographer and adventurer. Starting out alone at the age of twelve, he had hiked over every main highway on this continent by the time he reached eighteen. Today he has been in thirty-eight countries.
Twice he has walked all the way to the Panama Canal and once to Alaska. In 1939 he hitch-hiked around the world. At an early age his love of travel and adventure led him to become interested in the great Pan-American Highway. To further his knowledge in this field, he enrolled in the University of Michigan and after finishing did graduate work in Latin American History.
During the past three years he has been foreign correspondent for Booth Newspapers, sold pictures to such publications as Life and Look, had his own radio program, and produced several newsreels. Over a hundred audiences acclaimed his unusual lecture programs last season.

ADVENTURES ACROSS ASIA
Three months before graduating from college, Bob's room-mate bet him $5 that he couldn't thumb his way around the world. Bob reached Europe on an Irish freighter, was chased into Asia by the war and there had his most thrilling adventures. He rode a camel over the desert, went broke in Bagdad, shot it out with bandits at Babylon, bathed in the pool of the Taj Mahal. After visiting the Himalayas, Bob left the Tibetian border and came down the Burma Road. The British objected to his driving a munitions truck and deported him to Singapore. There he signed on a U. S. freighter and returned after a year's trip to win his bet. Here is a most unusual glimpse into the lives and thoughts of the Asiatics. (This lecture is NOT illustrated.)

Robert Friers was excellent. He is a good speaker and has a good story to tell. It makes a pleasing lecture for almost any type of audience. I was surprised at the excellence of his color film. Very rarely do travellers secure such good exposures.
