ENTHUSIASTICALLY ACCLAIMED BY THE PRESS AND …THE SPONSORS
CLEVELAND, O.
(Soloists with The Cleveland Summer Orchestra)
Cheers, whistles and vigorous applause long after the stage lights were lowered, were the rewards of Braggiotti and his new two-piano partner, Walter Shaw, at the Pop concert last night in Public Hall. It was an ovation, all right—and an ovation well deserved for the team really gave out. Their performance with the supporting Cleveland Summer Orchestra was dynamic … It's one of the best duo piano attractions in the country today, when it comes to popular appeal … Practically brought the house of 6,000 down.
By Milton Wilder, The Cleveland Press, July 25, 1942
SEATTLE, WASH.
(De Luxe Theatre Series)
PIANO-DUO CHEERED BY FULL HOUSE— They have done it again. Only this time it was Braggiotti and Shaw. The team is one of superb precision whose trading of melody is imperceptable and whose progressive approach to all music is refreshing … Braggiotti, master showman … Shaw was in complete accord … and how those boys could swing it! Naturally there were encores that brought howls and cheers.
The Seattle Times, November 8, 1942

CHARLESTON, W. VA.
(The Junior League)
DUO-PIANISTS ARE ACCLAIMED— It was Shaw and Braggiotti, not Fray and Braggiotti, and it didn't make much difference. The new piano-team played precisely and resoundingly, and a large audience applauded with increasing enthusiasm … Both brought on the encores, which did not end until the artists played the national anthem.
By Jack Maurice, The Charleston Daily Mail, Feb. 13, 1943
RICHMOND, KY.
(Eastern Kentucky Teachers College)
BRAGGIOTTI AND SHAW THRILL AUDIENCE— Sophisticated entertainment on a high cultural level … Decidedly successful concert … Mario Braggiotti and Walter Shaw are among the most facile and clever of all the piano-teams … A perfectly knit ensemble.
By Dr. Fred P. Giles, The Richmond Daily Register, February 16, 1943
CHARLOTTE, N. C.

TWO PIANISTS WIN APPLAUSE— Bragiotti writes excellent two-piano arrangements, and he and his new American partner, Walter Shaw, play them excellently. As duo-pianists, they achieved a meticulous ensemble and a beautiful tone. They proved excellent musicians as well as excellent pianists … Won the hearty enthusiasm of yesterday's audience.
By Marjorie M. Fisher, The San Francisco News, November 2, 1942
EVANSVILLE, IND.
(Town Hall)
DUO PIANISTS PLEASE LARGE AUDIENCE— If one might hope the nations of the world could set around the peace table with an understanding of each other comparable to that of the duo pianists who sat across two pianos from each other yesterday morning at Loew's theater, the future of the world would seem much brighter.
By M. H. W., The Evansville Courier, January 20, 1943

The Salt Lake Telegram, August 26, 1942
OMAHA, NEBR.
(Aksarben Festival)
Ak-Sar-Ben provided truly royal musical entertainment … Like Braggiotti, Walter Shaw is a sterling pianist and so admirable has he fitted himself into that difficult routine that they have welded their musical personalities until they are as one of four hands … The audience was loathe to have them stop.
By Martin W. Bush, Morning World-Herald, October 28, 1942

DUO-PIANO TEAM WELL RECEIVED AT GEORGIA TECH— One outstanding feature of the brilliant duo-piano concert at the Tech auditorium was the playing of the new team-mate, Walter Shaw … Braggiotti and Shaw went swinging through a somewhat lighter program than that of last season, and it fairly sept a capacity audience.
The Atlanta Journal, October 15, 1942
TECH AUDIENCE HAILS BRAGGIOTTI AND PARTNER— One of the most enthusiastic local audiences of all time welcomed the pianist Mario Braggiotti, with a new team-mate, Walter Shaw, back to town last night … The capacity audience was frank in its approval.

SAINT PAUL, MINN.
(Women's Institute)
INSTITUTE CONCERT CALLED MEMORABLE SUCCESS— Music and musicians made the season's first concert under auspices of the Women's Institute a memorable affair … The two executants have the manual agility and the technical knowledge to go on; they have the art, indispensible to this specialty, of feeling and thinking together, dovetailing their efforts largely by mutual exercise of an anticipation geared to split-second timing.
By Frances Boardman, The Saint Paul Pioneer Press, October 1, 1942

ROCHESTER, N. Y.
(The Eastman School of Music)
PIANISTS GIVE BRILLIANT RECITAL— The two-piano transcriptions they use are by Mr. Braggiotti and these transcriptions are as unorthodox as their performance. But the effect they achieve is like a sparkling windswept sky, and the tonal richness of their harmonization sometimes has the sound of a whole orchestra of pianos.
