HENRY
and
COMPANY
In the diversified program offered by Henry and Company are many specialties that challenge the interest and enthusiasm of the most sophisticated audience. Spectacular magic, rare illusions, sand paintings and original drawings are featured briskly and effectively. Elaborate stage settings and electrical equipment include new and striking draperies, as well as floodlights and spotlights with a variety of color effects. The brilliant costuming of the company adds materially to the spectacle.
Three in Company
Appearing with Henry in his artistic program are two assistants, including an expert stage mechanic who handles the numerour intricate properties. More than a half ton of equipment is carried by the company. Their
menagerie
includes a trained assemblage of pigeons, doves, rabbits, guinea pigs and ducks.
Special care has been exercised in building a program that avoids the shopworn tricks of the ordinary magician. Variety is found in mystifying spirit paintings, shadow pictures and brilliantly lighted designs in colored sand. The entertainment, in fact, is 100 minutes of mystery, art and wholesome fun.
Magic Is National Hobby
Magic seems to have become a national hobby. It is estimated that there are more than 50,000 people in the United States who practice the art to some extent. Almost every city of consequence has a magic club which includes professional magicians, lawyers, doctors and others who have made magic the subject of practice and study. Hundreds of books have been published on the subject. In the library of S. S. Henry are more than 1,000 books, pamphlets and papers on magic. Some of them date back to the 17th century.
For nearly 20 years Henry the Magician has brought joy to enthusiastic audiences throughout the United States and Canada. When he has the platform, the elements of mystery, novelty and surprise are blended into a facile fantasy that intrigues the young and revives the old.

Henry and Company were received with much enthusiasm. No adverse criticism was heard. Mr. Henry's magic was entertaining as well as mystifying, and his art work surpassed any similar demonstration ever offered here. The number was a success in every way.

Sand Pictures Praised
H. E. McCarthy, Apple Creek, Ohio:
Mr. Henry and his company were unusually well received by a crowded house. They were entertaining from the very start, and full of 'pep'. Many favorable comments were heard on the sand pictures which were something new to our people. The program was one of the best numbers we have had for a long time and gave our people something they do not and cannot get over the radio.
