Meistersingers Male Qaurtette
Exclusive Control MIDLAND LYCEUM BUREAU, Des Moines, Iowa
The Meistersingers
Far beyond our hopes was the success of the Meistersingers Male Quartette the past seasons. College-bred boys, with the college swing, they gave a bright, catchy, popular program, while their en¬semble singing was above reproach. We offer the Meistersingers for the season 1905-06 with full consciousness of their worth and ability, and we promise that they will duplicate, and if possible excell, their successes of the seasons just passed. t| The Meistersingers (master singers) Male Quartette enters upon its third tour with all the prestige of a well known organization, having unquestionably a most attractive personality in individual membership and collectively a perfected whole. Its distinguishing work in ensemble singing is its brilliancy. A date on the Meistersingers will convince you that they are all their name implies — that they are master singers of the highest rank.

Them Meistersingers
I've hearn them Meistersingers sing
One night at our opra house. They raised the roof, they did, by jing !
One night at our opra house. I hitched the bays to the old turn-out After th' milkin' and chorin' about, 'N then 'ith plenty of laughter and shout
We druv to the opra house.
The house was jammed, I dew declare, Chuck full wuz thet opra house.
The tarnationest lot of folks wuz there— There in thet opra house.
Then them fellers come on to sing,
A-drest in clothes—the funniest thing
I ever did see ; all in a string On the stage of thet opra house.
'N then come some music, I dunno where.
Right in thet opra house. Seemed jest a-floatin in the air,
Right in thet opra house. Seemed like an orgin jest broke loose With the purtiest sound it could perduce— "Twas jest them fellers op'nin' their sluice,
Down in our opra house.
Dedicated to them by "Ibiram Brown"
They sung up one side an' down t'other,
On the stage of thet opra house. Then they'd break out all together,
Wakin' up that opra house. They made you think they'd break th' winders-Then back up 'n kind-a hinders Things a spell, then, smash to flinders
Things in thet opra house.
'Twas the greatest'sin gin' I ever heard
In thet old opra house. So plain 'n distinct thet ev'ry word
Wuz clear, in thet opra house. *N the funny things ! I laughed till sore ; Felt jest like rollin' on the floor ; I'd never hearn the like before
In thet old opra house.
I've hearn the quartette from th' county-seat,
In thet old opra house. 'N the bell ringers, they say, was never beat,
In thet old opra house. But them Meistersingers ! I want to tell! Ef I go to heaven 'n they're—not there, I'd change my abode to hear 'em a spell
Like twas in our opra house.
The Meistersingers

REV. W. W. HAVENS, Geddes, S. D.:
The Meistersingers far more than met our expec¬tations. Their voices are perfectly trained and harmonize in a manner not often met with in a number of singers. Their selections are varied and calculated to meet all tastes (clean tastes, we mean) and, last but not least, in the estima¬tion of their hearers they are exceedingly liberal, responding time after time to encores, coming up smiling pleasantly every time. Success to the Meistersingers and the Midland Lyceum Bu¬reau.
CHAS. BANKS, Avalon, Mo.: The mu¬sical given by the Meistersingers was the best of its kind ever given in the old college town of Avalon. The boys are royal good fellows and made many friends during their stay with us over Sunday. We are looking forward to a return date this season.
REV. V. R. BEEBE, Whittemore, la.: They are a credit to the Bureau. Program enjoyed.
MR. FREDERICK HOWARD, Dean of Drake University: I have trained and placed before the public many similar organiza¬tions to the Meistersingers, but I can honestly say with personal pride that I have never launched a male quartette with more confi¬dence in their ability than this one. Their voices are beautiful, their knowledge of music unlimited, and their repertoire complete.
SUPT. H. A. TEWELL, St. Thomas, N. D.: The Meistersingers gave an excellent program. We greeted them with a large, en¬thusiastic audience, and the boys thoroughly enjoyed it, too. St. Thomas never had any¬thing in that line that would begin to reach the Meistersingers. Everyone is full of praises for the singers.
FRED W. STEVENS Second Tenor.
From Press and People
DR. A. VON OVEN, Miles, la.: For the Meistersingers we have nothing but praise.
VERONA McKINLAY, Rock Rapids, la.: The Meistersingers were a decided success.
REVEILLE, Memphis, Mo.: The enter¬tainment given by The Meistersingers at the Kinney Opera House Thanksgiving night was of a high order. The quartette is composed of gentlemen—men whose walk, talk and actions indicate culture and refinement. Not only this, they are skilled in the art of music and can sing. Every number on the program was rendered in a very creditable manner and there was always a generous response to en¬cores. There was a large crowd present and all enjoyed a rare treat. If The Meistersingers ever come this way again, we venture to say they will have a good house.
L. H. GERHARDT Basso
C. G. MARSHALL Baritone and Reader
NEWS, Canton, S. D.: A better pleased audience has seldom left the hall.
I. L.TEACHENOR, Clayton, 111.: The Meistersingers are extra fine. All are good and gave perfect satisfaction.
SUPT. C. R. ATKINSON, Sheridan, Wyo.: The Meistersingers are excellent. All pleased, and we liked them very much.
H. R. TUCKER, Supt. Schools, Sturgis, S. D.: The Meistersingers are the best yet. Should like to engage them again for next season. There seemed universal enjoyment of their program.
G. F. MEAD, O'Neill, Neb.: We can speak only in the highest praise of the young men. They were courteous, gentlemanly and did their work well. Everyone greatly enjoyed their performance.
