COL. L. F. COPELAND  is beyond question the most popular lecturer in America. Consummately witty, thoroughly  logical  and   fascinatingly  eloquent, an   accom-
plished scholar, a man of wide and varied experience and extensive travel, familiar with social customs and manners of peoples in all lands, choosing subjects at once popular and instructive as well as amusing, he never fails to please an audience, while teaching valuable lessons of truth and right, and   well   deserves  his   title, "King  of  the   Platform."
Col. Copeland is one of the veterans of the platform, having been before the public as a lecturer twenty years. In that time he has lectured more than four thousand times to delighted audiences and never yet proved a disappointment. He has lectured in every State of the Union and in Canada and has a reputation as wide as the continent as a most brilliant and accomplished orator and wit.
Col. Copeland is a member of Grace M. E. Church of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and frequently officiates in the pulpits of the city to the delight of his hearers always. He is a man of unimpeachable character, a philanthropist, honored and beloved most by those who know him best. He is a lawyer by profession but devotes all his time to the platform, He has more calls to lecture than he can fill and is recalled more times to the same place than any lecturer in America, for proof of which statement we refer to the list of places printed elsewhere in this circular where he has lectured THREE times or more.

Lawrence (Mass.) American— Few, if any of the audience that turned out to hear Col. L. F. Cope-la nd last evening seemed to take any note of time, as two mortal hours went by, unnoticed, into the unreturning past. No report of the lecture can be made, for it would have been as difficult to photograph the Scripture drove of foxes in full run with fire¬brands between each pair of tails as to condense and epitomize the Colonel's breezy, intellectual blizzard. The audience showed by earnest attention and hearty laughter, break¬ing often into a roar, that they were individually and collectively in a satisfactory frame of mind.
Rome (N. Y) Sentinel— All who where present will agree that Col. Copeland is one of the most pop¬ular and pleasing lecturers that has ever appeared in Rome. He mingles sentiment and pathos with wit and humor in such a manner as to evolve a most delightful lecture.
New York World—His elo¬quence is unsurpassed and his humor irresistible.
Cincinnati Gazette—Although the Unity Club has had a continuous existence of sixteen years, it was cheerfully agreed that Col. Copeland's lecture, was the most valuable and enjoyable ever given from its plat¬form, which has been occupied, at regular intervals, by the greatest men of two hemispheres.
Atlanta (Ga.) Constitution— There is not a more pronounced orator on the American platform than Col. Copeland, and this is the cool opinion of his most conservative hearers. Personally Col. Copeland is a most entertaining man. While in Atlanta he made a host of warm friends, and these will recall the fever heat of July in the fervid temperature of their reception.
Indianapolis (bid.) Journal— Col. L. F. Copeland delivered his third lecture in the Young Men's Christian Association course last evening to an auditorium filled with people. His fund of knowledge from extensive research and travel was utilized in his minute, thrilling des¬criptions of nature and incidents taken from nearly every country on the globe. Col. Copeland was in last season's course and received the highest vote ever given to a lecturer by the patrons of the course.
Altoona (Pa.) Times—Ccl. Copeland is a polished and accom¬plished speaker and has many natural endowments that specially fit him for his profession. The lecture delivered last evening, we think, will only con¬firm the opinion generally expressed that Col. Copeland is one of the most brilliant and successful lecturers on the platform. His lecture was a most happy effort and kept the audience in rare good humor. We unhesitat¬ingly pronounce Col. Copeland one of the finest lecturers that has ever honored Altoona with his presence.
Ozark Mountain Assembly^ 18Q4—We never knew a person more worthy the title of "everybody's friend" than Col. L. F. Copeland, the brilliant lecturer, the matchless hum¬orist, the earnest Christian gentleman, and the genial, lovable, manly man. His work did not end with th€ delivery of the lectures for which he was paid, but every hour of his stay in our midst was devoted to the inter¬ests of the Assembly. His presence and work did more for its advance ment than all of the other agencies combined.
Grand Forks (N. D.) Herald— Col. Copeland captivated his audi¬ence from the very start, and by his irrepressible humor, wonderful pathos and grand oratory held them in his magic power for nearly an hour and a half. To describe the lecture is a difficult task. It was a weird combi¬nation of mimicry, wit, pathos, ridi¬cule, philosophy, morality and Chris¬tianity, so blended with the speaker's own personality as to make it unique. No one but Col. Copeland could deliver such a lecture.
Maquoketa (Iowa) Record— The lecture by Col. Copeland at Rice's Opera House last Friday evening was one of the best and most practical ever delivered in this city.
Philadelphia Press—Col. Cope-land's lecturers have no made-up or read-up flavor about them. While evidently thought out with care, the fluency of the language, the broad and firm grasp upon principles, the logical progression of the argumen¬tation, show a well furnished and dis¬ciplined mind, a ripe and ready scholarship, and make everything fresh and strong and lively as the product of the moment. The frequent sallies of wit or humor and the rich funr as well as apt ilustrative force of the anecdotes, contribute happily to keep awake the interest and secure unwearied attention.
Detroit (Mich.) Free Press— For an hour and a half the eloquent lecturer held the earnest attention of the entire audience. His power in passing from the ludicrous to the sublime is wonderful. For almost two-thirds of the time his audience roared in laughter and during the other one-third they listened in breath¬less silence to his appeals for higher and truer living.
Des Moines (Iowa) Leader— Col. L. F. Copeland delivered a lecture on "Snobs and Snobbery" at Fosters last evening under the auspices of the Star lecture course. He proved a delightful speaker and his brilliant treatment of the subject claimed the ready and interested attention of his audience throughout. The lecture sparkled with humor. The topic was one at once congenial and thoroughly studied from the standpoint of a cheering philosopher who looks upor life through optimistic eyes which, while observing the ills of the social system, see the humors as well as the tragedies of life. In his philosophy every tear is balanced with a smile and every moan answered with the music of laughter.
Bozeman (Mont.) Courier— Col. Copeland's first ten words made him friends with every one in the large audience, and the friendship grew as the lecturer progressed. He is full of quiet humor, and his droll¬ery in putting his points before the audience, makes him irresistible. And his serious thoughts are full oi beauty in their straight simplicity One cannot hear his lectures without being broadened and lifted thereby.
Springfield (Mass.) Republic can—Col. Copeland's lecture was a storm of eloquence, wit, pathos and fervor. It will be long remem¬bered by the two thousand people who heard it.
