ROBLEY MALE QUARTET
Robley Male Quartet
Announcement
IN ANNOUNCING the Robley Male Quartet, it affords the management pleasure to say that they were with us the past season to the eminent satisfaction of our patrons and of us. Their entertainments have been so universally satis¬factory that not a word of adverse criticism has reached us, but numerous requests are on file for return engagement. Their voices blend with such balance, their music is so rich and artistically executed, their programs are so varied and attractive, as to justify us in heartily recommending them to our patrons who are in search of the best in quartet music.
Mr. Bayard T. Robley, the manager of the quartet, is a reader and impersonator of un-usual ability.
We offer the Robley Male Quartet to our pa¬trons with the assurance that they will be even better the coming season than ever before.
Grand Junction, Colo.—The Robley Male Quar¬tet is without a doubt one of the best musical com¬panies ever heard in Grand Junction.—The Daily Sentinel.
Goldendale, Wash.—To say the Robley Quartet pleased only half expresses the universal opinion of those who heard them last night. The audience was perfectly delighted.—The Agriculturist.
Durango, Colo.—Every member is an artist in the vocal line. Especially appreciated was Mr. Rob¬ley, second tenor, although the others ranked super¬ior to anything Durango has enjoyed in years. The Democrat advices everyone who has an opportun¬ity to hear the Robley Quartet to do so.—Durango Democrat.
Wymore, Neb.—The entertainment given by the Robley Male Quartet at the Christian Church Wed¬nesday night was really fine. The quartet harmony was bordering on perfection, while the solo work could not be better. To hear Robley read is to forget yourself and to laugh or cry with him.— Arbor State.
Longmont, Colo.—The Robley Male Quartet sang in the First M. E. Church to the great delight of all. They are all artists. Every number on the program, as well as the encores, was received with the greatest delight. The hits they make are capi¬tal. I commend them most heartily.—A. L. Chase, Pastor M. E. Church.
Telluride, Colo.—The program was a good one in its entirety, quartet renditions without instru¬mental accompaniment predominating; one beauti¬ful bass solo was rendered, and Mr. Robley, the manager, recited some amusing selections and did some clever impersonating. The entertainment was on the order that Joe Newman usually gives, but is better.—Telluride Journal.
The Robley Male Quartet entertained quite a large crowd at the Carlisle Fitting School chapel Tuesday evening. The program was one of the best in that line our citizens have had the oppor¬tunity of witnessing in some time. The instru¬mental music was all that one could wish for. Those who attended hope the Quartet will return again in the near future.—Bamberg (S. C.) Times.
Fort Collins, Colo.—An audience which crowded the seating capacity of the First Baptist Church and caused standing room to be at a premium was splendidly entertained Friday evening by the Rob¬ley Male Quartet. The program consisted of vocal quartet and solos by the members and several en¬tertaining readings by Air. Robley. Encores were frequently and graciously responded to.—Fort Col-lins Express.
Bertrand (Neb.) Independent Herald: The first number of the lyceum course, the Robley Male Quartet, was greeted by a large audience, and the high-class program given was thoroughly enjoyed.
Gainesville (Fla.) Daily Sun : The grand concert by the Robley Male Quartet again made the people of Gainesville wild with joy. This was their last full concert and they deserved all the applause they received and it was not stinted.
Claflin (Kas.) Clarion: The entertainments this week under the auspices of the Epworth League started Tuesday evening with the Robley Male Quartet. The quartet work was fine and the work of Bayard T. Robley, impersonator and reader, was exceptionally good and he delighted the audience with every number he gave.
Memphis (Tenn.) Commercial Appeal: The Robley Quartet, one of the best attractions sent out under the auspices of the Alkahest Lyceum System of Atlanta pleased a large audience last night at the (ioodwyn Institute. The entertainment con¬sisted of musical numbers and character recitations and was one of the best given this season by the management.
Bamberg (S. C.) Tribune: The Robley Male-Quartet entertained a large audience at the Audi¬torium Tuesday evening. The program was one of the best our people have had the opportunity of hearing in years. In addition to the vocal quar¬tets and solos, the instrumental music was all that could be desired. Those who attended hope the quartet will return in the near future.
Trinidad, Colo.—The Robley Male Quartet gave three of the finest concerts ever heard in Trinidad. Last night they sang at the Baptist church to a house packed to the doors. The church could not accommodate those who wished to hear the four men sing, and applause was vigorous. The concert was a popular one and the solo work exceedingly fine. The bass singer has a voice that is hard to equal for depth and quality. Mr. Robley, himself, is the reader of the club and his work is rich in humor and pathos.—Daily. Advertiser.
Humiston, Iowa.—The Robley Male Quartet gave an unusually fine concert at the Congregational church Wednesday evening. There was a good house, and it was amply rewarded, for the young men made beautiful melody. The bass was superb, deep, rich, true, musical in every note; the tenor was sweet and clear. The blending was finely done and the selections well chosen and heartily encored. The reader, Mr. Robley, was no elocutionary prig, but natural and sympathetic, entering into the real spirit of his selection, whether serious or humor¬ous, with keen appreciation of an artist.—Humiston New Era.
Gainesville (Fla.) Sun: The Robley Male Quar¬tet delighted the people of Gainesville. They cap¬tured all present Thursday evening by their sing¬ing and were again received with hearty applause. Each number was received with the most Mattering enthusiasm. Mr. Robley again delighted them with his readings and was encored again and again.
Visalia (Cal.) Daily Delta: The Robley Male Quartet, which furnished the first of the entertain¬ments to be given at the Chautauqua Assembly gave a most entertaining evening, and the large audience went away delighted.
Colorado Assembly of the Christian Church.—T wish to express to you the extreme pleasure we had at the Colorado Assembly in the work of the Robley Male Quartet, who sang for us on the evening of August 8th. It was one of the happiest hits of the season. Their superb singing, Robley's splendid impersonations, and the genial, manly character of the boys themselves combined to make the evening given them an evening of real joy. Very truly yours.—J. E. Pickett, Pres.
St. George (S. C.) Dorchester Eagle: The ly-ceum attraction on Monday evening was good. A large audience greeted the entertainers and an even¬ing full of enjoyment was accorded every one who attended. A male quartet is always more or less good; but the Robley Company was the finest St. George has had in years.
Ellis (Kan.) Review-Headlight: The Robley Male Quartet on Tuesday evening was one of the best that has ever visited Ellis.
Eugene, Ore.—The concert of the Robley Male Quartet was a splendid success. This is an excel¬lent combination, far above the average professional company. The harmony was sure, the voices pure and clear, the expression delicate and refined.
The impersonations of Mr. Robley elicited roars of laughter from the listeners, and he was obliged to respond time after time with encores. He has the good common sense, the rare poise, the natural dignity to be intensely humorous without descending to the clownish.
It is sincerely wished that Eugene may be so fortunate as to hear again the Robley Male Quartet.
