A large audience greeted the S. Piatt Jones entertainment in Prince Hall on Thursday evening1 of last week, and the prestige of this gifted company was fully sustained by their rendition of each number on the program. The appreciation of the audience was manifested in the hearty applause and repeated calls for encores with a ready and pleasing response by the entertainers. Especial recognition should be given the impersonator, S. Scene One—" Uncle Eben " and little Willie are going through the woods, Willie teasing for a story. "Uncle Eben" sits and tells the " Panther Story ; " then they go on.
Scene Two—Fifteen years later, " Uncle Eben," Bill (the once Willie), and Hope have just returned from New York City. Bill and Hope are in the sitting room. He has declared his love and has been accepted. "Uncle Eben" has his candle and is
going to his room. His unexpected entrance is rather dis¬concerting to all, but they tell him they are engaged. He is pleased and his talk to them gives us a sermon in homely logic.
