Imperial Saxophone Quartette
With Mrs. Josephine Retz. Reader
Exclusive Control MIDLAND LYCEUM BUREAU, Des Moines, Iowa
E. STRASSER, Boston Symphony Orches¬tra— I can recommend Mr. Shaw highly as a performer.
GAZETTE, Courtenay, N. D.—Mr. A. Lynn Shaw with the saxophone presented an instrument which captivated the audience with its pure, sweet tones.
DAILY JOURNAL, Coffeyville, Kansas-The concert last night was as delightful and as thoroughly enjoyable as any Coffeyville peo-ple have ever heard. There were three distinct features in the concert, the quintette, the harpist and the banjoist. And every one of the three manifested the most wonderful skill on their in¬struments and wrought effects almost unheard of. Their music is certainly entrancing.

PRIN. O. W. JULIEN, Milan, Kansas The Sax-ophone Quartette has come and gone and all our people were delighted with the entertainment. A. Lynn Shaw's
solos were the work of a genuine artist. Mr. Garber maintained his well earned reputation on the banjo. It was certainly a pleasure to have such a troupe in our town.
STAR AND KANSAN, Independence, Kansas The Imperial Saxophone entertainment was fully up to the expectations of the audience.
CLIMAX, Af-ton, Ind. Ty.—The musical entertain¬ment given by the Imperial Saxophone Quintette was "im¬perial " in reality. It was one of the most eloquent musicals we ever had the pleasure of attending, and our people would appreciate another visit from the "Imperials."
NEWS, Ness City, Kas.— The Saxophone Quin¬tette was one of the best entertainments of the season, and by far the best musical entertainment we have had in the city for years. All are artists in the strictest sense of the word.
HUDSONITE, Hud son, S. D.—Homer Chalet Garber is well termed "The Marvel the Banjo World." His rendition of sacred music is marvelous.
BROADAXE, Lidgerwood, N. D.-Gar-ber, the banjoist, is simply a marvel, and every doubt that the banjo might not be a musical instrument was chased away by his work.
DAILY WAVE, End, Okla.-The per-formers were all artists and the music very fine.
DAILY DEMOCRAT, Anadarko, O. T. — The entertainment by the Imperial Saxo¬phone Quintette was a thoroughly enjoyable number. That this rare musical treat was ap-preciated was evidenced by the crowded house.
Miss Josephine Retz
READER
WE ARE more than pleased to present Miss Retz with the Imperial Saxophone Quartette. She has given years of delightful evenings of songs, readings and piano solos. To secure her for a part of each program means the cream of her work and in¬sures delighted audiences. First of all, she is an artist in her chosen profession that of reader and entertainer— but not least, is she a beautiful soprano and accom¬panist. She has traveled with Patricolo and others of note, and we predict for her success with this company.
DAILY TIMES - HERALD, Mason City, Iowa —Miss Josephine Retz, the dramatic reader, who was presented on Friday evening to the people of Mason City by the Baraca class, of the Christian Sunday School, gave a delightful evening's entertainment.
TIMES-GAZETTE, Tuscaloosa, Ala.—Miss Retz's readings had the rare charm of naturalness, which, after all, is the best of art.
CHAS. R. BOOSTROM, Prest. of the Southern Minnesota Normal College, Austin, Minn.—Miss Retz is a young lady of pleasing personality, high ideals, and pos¬sesses more than usual command of the art expressive. She held her audience spell-bound for more than two hours with her wit, humor, dramatic art and superb person¬ality. She cannot fail to please any audience, no matter how refined and how cultured.
HERALD, Burr Oak, Kas.—"The Swallows," by Miss Retz, was a rare vocal selection and showed the magnificent scope of her voice. Miss Retz is also a reader of exceptional ability. Her selections were well received.
E. T. FITCH, Supt. City Schools, Watertown, S. D. —Miss Retz is an artist of rare taste, good vocal power and fine personality. She recites with the best of expres¬sion and does not overdo matters. I commend Miss Retz as an artist worthy of the patronage of people of intelli¬gence and refinement.
EXCELSIOR, Maquoketa, la. —A large audience at the Con¬gregational Church last Friday evening enjoyed a treat in the re¬cital given by Miss Josephine Retz. She gave a delightfully varied pro¬gram, in which the dramatic and humorous elements were very skill¬fully mingled. Her interpretation of the Witches in " Macbeth " was fine, as was also her rendition of the "Twa Sisters," and old Scotch ballad of tragic vein. Of the hum¬orous selections, her "Mammy's Churnin'" and "The Bear Story" were especially pleasing. Miss Retz is the best reader who has been in this city for a long time.
