PACK OATMEAL FOR FRIENDSHIP TRAIN-Cedar Rapids workmen are already packing the oatmeal that people of this area will add to the Friendship Train collection Nov. 13. The Quaker Oats Company and the National Oats Company will provide the oatmeal at cost. Each 100-pound bag will bear a label showing the United States flag and messages in the languages of the two countries whose undernourished people will benefit-France and Italy.
The above picture was taken Wednesday at the Quaker Oats plant. Clarence Buchanan is affixing the flag label to the bag. This label will impress on the people of Europe that the people of free, democratic America are anxious to help them out of the despair the war brought them. Each burlap bag has a moisture-proof paper liner. Send your donations to the Friendship Train, Red Cross, Granby building, Cedar Rapids.
