How WAACs Spend Evening
—Plenty of Opportunities for Amusement ^
Members of the women's army auxiliary corps have their own little city at Fort Des Moines army post.
At night, the lights sparkle and the air is filled with feminine chatter as these 2,800 women relax after a long, full day of drill, classes, and performances of the many duties required of any self-sufficient group.
Amusement.
There are as many opportunities for amusement at Fort Des Moines as there are in many small Iowa towns.
The women can go to. a movie any night, bowl, play badminton, play games in the day rooms or service club, or meet at the post exchange for cokes, malted milks or ice cream. And once a week there are dances for the men and women at the; post.
Meeting Place.
On week nights, most of the WAACs stay on the post grounds. The most popular meeting place is the post exchange, which is filled with more than 200 WAACs and s
