There's a new kind of "law" walking the downtown beats of Des Moines and on motor, patrol through the residential district and suburban night spots.
You may have noticed two buddies—a soldier and a sailor— wearing blue arm bands, strolling around the downtown streets on a Saturday night. You may have seen their "sisters," the WAACs with green arm bands, moving about unobtrusively.
All of them are members of the new combined Army-Navy-WAAC patrol. i
New Night Life.
Thousands of WAACs, soldiers, sailors and marines now visit the night clubs, the stores, movies, dance halls, other places of amusement—and of course the churches and other social gathering places.
The hometowners marvel "that there hasn't been more trouble."
The reason is twofold: Military discipline and a combined patrol.
