Hickenlooper has officially proclaimed March to be "WAACruiting" month in the State of Iowa, and since the recruiting of young women for the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps is the major war project of the Iowa Federation of Women's Clubs, the Dubuque Women's Club, under the direction of Mrs. H. C. Milversted, president, has been very active in this campaign for the WAACs. They recently staged an intensive drive for WAACs and set up a recruiting sub-station, where they supplied information, etc., to all interested. The Dubuque Army Recruiting Station, located in the Postoffice Building in Room 272, is now manned by three members of the WAACs. One of the requisites for joining the WAACs, the mental tests, may be taken here in Dubuque at the local Army recruiting office, thus leaving only the physical examination to be taken at Des Moines.
