WASHINGTON, D. C.—A "West Point for Women" to train officers for the women's army auxiliary corps will be established at Fort Des Moines.-
The president signed the bill authorizing the creation of "WAAC" Friday morning, and this was followed immediately by a war department announcement that officers will be trained at the Iowa fort. Under full operation, it is expected that 5,000 women officers will be trained at the army post which will be improved and expanded at an expenditure of three million dollars.-
Mrs. Oveta Culp Hobby, Houston newspaper executive, was named director of the WAAC by Secretary of War Stimson. She has been director of women's interest
