Contained Text	My dear Ma and Pa--this is a great school, though some of the professors are a little weak in their subjects. I have had to take up football, as I found studying so much was hurting my eyes, and to avoid the expense of glasses o ur physical director and coach, Dr. Rafferty, advised me to go out and try for the team. football is a great game and not a bit rough. of course I don't play hard; just enough to keep myself in good condition for studying. I am sending you my expense account up to date. I think I must have lost some money out of my pockets, as I cannot account for all you sent me. you will notice also that I bought a sweater. I did this to save on my laundry bill. you see, a sweater never has to be washed, and I don't have to wear any shirts or collars with it. I don't believe I will be able to get home for Thanksgiving. must close and get to studying now. your affectionate son, Alonzo. p.s.--please send me some money; expense account; board & room; Sunday school; inn; sweater; cough medicine; postage stamps; Sunday school; how about postage stamps $5.00; cough medicine ought to be good for about $2.00 hadn't it?; Sunday school collection $1.00; football rules; wonder how it comes that Alonzo has spent $5.00 for postage stamps already when he is so busy studying he can't write home but once in two weeks--and he's got down 9 Sunday school contributions and he's only been away 5 Sundays
