In June of 1906, famed architect Stanford White was shot and killed in New York City by millionaire Harry K. Thaw, who was jealous of White's relationship with Thaw's wife Evelyn. Thaw was tried in the so-called "Trial of the Century" and found not guilty by reason of insanity.
