This digital collection of early sound recordings was compiled by Frederick Crane, Professor of Music at the University of Iowa. It features music and spoken word recordings of artists, bands, choral groups, and other “talent” affiliated with the Redpath Lyceum Bureau, an organization that booked cultural programming throughout much of the United States and Canada as part of the Chautauqua movement. For more information on Chautauqua, see http://www.lib.uiowa.edu/spec-coll/Bai/redpath.htm
