Company M Wins
It wis an jhistoricl event at Fort Des Moines A?rmy post Friday evening when Company 1 defeated Company 2, 9 to 8, in a five-inning softball game.
It was the first sports event ever contested by members of the Women's Auxiliary Army corps. And the WAACs put on quite a show for the throng of fellow members on the fort parade grounds. Company 1 had to push across a run in the last of the final frame to break an 8-8 deadlock in this game between officer candidates.
