The gold 'beCrs at thirl officers Saturday will be/awarded 93 officer candidates /of the? women's army auxiliary/ corps—including seven women who entered the service in the ranks of the auxiliaries.
The commissioning of the 93 members of the sixth graduating class, in exercises at Fort Des Moines army post, will bring to 1,125 the total number of third officers in the corps.
The program will be at 11 a. m at the west end of the parade grounds if weather permits, and Will be preceded by the regular regimental formation and parade at 10 a. m. The public generally is not invited because of lack of accommodations.
Gardner Cowles, jr., president of The Register and Tribune Co. and domestic director of the office of war information, who has just returned from a world tour with Wendell Willkie, will address the graduating class.
The seven WAACs who started their army careers as auxiliaries (privates) include Ethel F. Hoffman of San Francisco,
