Twin WarnersX In WAAC Corp|
FORT DES MOINES,/Iowa, (INS): Among the auxiliaries of the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps who pave left the WAAC training center at Fort Des Moines to enter the aircraft warning service on the east coast, are identical twins—June and Katherine Carlson, formerly of Minnetonka Mills. Minn.
The twins, who have never been separated during the past 28 years, were members of the same basic training company at Fort Des Moines, and drew the same assignment.
The army. however, is usually no respecter of family ties, and the Misses Carlson are fully prepared not to have their good luck hold in the future.
In the aircraft warning service they will plot the course of aircraft reported by spotters, filter out known planes from those not known to be in the air, separate friendly from enemy aircraft and flash the warning to the interceptor command which will put our own planes into the air to meet, tltem.
