Saddles, boots, horses and hunts vere her forte before Auxiliary ilosa Lee piappy) Brown of Co-umbia, S. C, enrolled in the Woman's Army Auxiliary Corps at Fort Des Moines.
Winner of hundreds of cups and tri-color rosettes and blue ribbons in southern horse shows and hunt club events, Auxiliary Brown looks back on a distinguished competitive career as "tame" compared to the thrill of being a member of the history-making women's army and looking forward to taking over a behind-the-lines army job in order to release a trained soldier for important combat duties.
Auxiliary Brown has the distinction of being the only girl included in the famous South Carolina Fox Hunters' Association annual ride at Camden, S. C. She participated in the 1938 event as an honorary guest of that well known southern hunt. She often followed the hounds and has been astride exhibition mounts in leading southern hors
