A. R. McDONALD, secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, announced no extensve drive for funds was held in Emmetsburg because the contributions had to 'be rounded up on such short notice.-- s;-
He learned Monday of the drive, contacted as many as he could during the day, and sent the checks to Spencer, headquarters for the collection in this area, the same evening. Contributions ranged from five to ten dollars although earlier several local residents had donated twenty-five dollars directly.-
McDonald reported there was only one turndown from prospective contributors.-----
