Roy Sawvell, first class petty of-\ ficer of the Sioux City naval re-I cruiting station who is here every Friday to recruit WAVES and SPARS, is a former Cherokee resident.
Sawvell lived in the iMt. Olive vicinity before moving from this county about 18 years ago. He was in South Dakota for a number of years and before entering the navy last October 1 lived at Sioux City. He was associated with the D. K. Baxter company, wholesale refrig"-eration firm. He is married and the father of two children.
A sister, Mrs. Glenn Leeds, lives at Aurelia. There are numerous I other relatives in the Mt. Olive neighborhood.
Sawvell has Cherokee and Plymouth county in his recruiting territory.
Since starting a recruiting drive for women auxiliaries here last Friday, about 14 women in this county have applied for enlistment, Sawvell said. Names
