Cedar Falls—Three typical Waves officers who arrived on the Iowa State Teachers college campus at the naval training station the last week in advance of the enlisted Waves who will come Dec. 15, for training as women sailors, are shown above.
As is true with the majority of the officers who arrived this week! from Northampton, Mass., the uni-' formed women shown above, were former teachers.
From left to right the officers are Ensign Dorothy Mohn, Peoria, 111., Ensign lone Fox, Fresno, Cal., and Ensign Juliet Brussel, New York City.
Ensign Mohn and
were physical education instructors previous to enlistment in the Waves, the former teaching at the Peoria Y. W. C. A., and the latter in the New York City schools. Ensign Fox was a mathematics instructor at Fresno.
Among the 15 women officers at the station is one who was married just before leaving the east to serve here. She is Ensign Ruth Edelman of Denver, Col
