Enlisting Team from Fort Des Moines Will be Here
"WAAC" daj^s will [be observed in Spencer, M|arch 17r|h and 18th when a recruiting team from Fort Des Moines will be here to enlist Clay county women in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps for service in the war. The Clay county quota is ten. Mrs. C. C. Collester is chairman of the drive here. A preliminary meeting will be held at the Tangney hotel at 8 p. m. March 16th. The enlistments will also ibe at the Tangney.
The WAACruiting Drive, to be i conducted in the city of Spencer, is through co-operation of the Iowa Federation of Women's clubs.
The month of March has been named WAACruiting Month by proclamation of Iowa's Governor Bourke B. Hickenlooper. The state-wide | drive for WAAC recruits is being conducted in an effort to meet the rational goal of 150,000 WAACs, the quota set by the United States War Department. j
