concert band, string ensemble, hymn music for chapel service, vocal chorus and a 14-piece dance orchestra that that has become the toast of Iowa City and the surrounding country.
Every man in the band has a college education and 17 colleges are represented in the organization. Six Big Ten schools—llowa, Illinois, Ohio State, (Michigan, Northwestern and
31 years service in the Navy, the Pre-Flight Band includes many former professional and outstanding amateur musicians.
