Sailor Arvid Still Awaits His WAAC
The women's armtij auxiliary corps replaced dnothef man on the home front Thursday.
The WAACs took over Dan Cupid's arrows and started flinging them eastward in hopes of hitting one Auxiliary Betty Thomas, a fellow WAAC of White Plains, N. Y.
This search began when Arvid Larsen, a gunner in the royal Norwegian navy since 1939, solicited the aid of the U.S.O. in finding Auxiliary Thomas, whom he intends to marry. He and the WAAC, met in New York City be-; fore she came to the Fort Des Moines training center.
U.S.O. directors requested the services of the women's army. And now public relations officers at the post await reply to their wire to Washington, D. C, seeking the whereabouts of Auxiliary Thomas, who has been transferred from New York City, where she was serving.
