Des Moines—County quotas in
the Iowa drive for 1,351 WACs were announced Monday by Governor Bourke B. Hickenlooper.
The quota for Cerro Gordo is 24.
Governor Hickenlooper urged Iowans to put Iowa "'on the map" in the current campaign by not only meeting the quota, but exceeding it.
''I know that every eligible woman in Iowa will respond to this 'call to arms," " he said. "To date, Iowa casualties in the war have been 1,351. It is up to us to replace those men with 1,351 WACs.
