WAC specialists who have been taking special training at Drake university hoisted their duffel bags and boxes of assorted personal belongings into army trucks Saturday.

Also Give Up Chamberlain
The women's army corps took the first step in its program of moving WACs from rented properties Saturday.
Women who have been taking some specialist courses at Drake university left the three buildings the WAC has occupied there since the fall of 1942, the men's dormitory, the women's gymnasium and Cole hall.
The Drake WAC contingent was moved to Hotel Savery.
Other WACs who have been housed in the Chamberlain hotel were moved to the Plaza hotel.
Thus, the Chamberlain hotel became the first of three downtown! hotels to be evacuated.
