' One-Hundred Gifts From Jasper County To Be Sent To Hospitalized WACs
Through the efforts of the Camp and Hospital Service committee of the Jasper County Red Cross, 100 WACS in the Fort Des Moines hospital at Christmas tlma will receive Christmas gifts. The drive has been conducted by D. D. Hundiing and Mrs. Roy A. Bradt, co-chairmen of the Jasper county committee.
The project is a unit of that adopted by Camp and Hospital Service committee throughout the slate, whereby each man and woman of the armed forces who is hospitalized in Iowa at Christmas time will be remembered. Gifts received by the local unit were assigned for delivery to the Women's Army Corps by drawing.

Jasper county contributors In-- elude nine grange organizations. whose solicitations were made by Mrs. August Iske; two social groups in Newton; Sigma Delta chapter of Theta Chf sorority and N. I. bridge club, both organizations having substituted the remembrances for service men and women in lieu of the annual gift exchange; and by Lorraine Nollen.
Granges donating money with which Mrs. Iske, assisted by Mrs. Earl Hadley, purchased the gifts were: Buena Vista, Glendale, Sugar Grave, Sandhill, Old Baxter, Oak Grove, Sandhill, Old Baxter, Oak Alto.
On Display
Wrapped gifts will be on display in the Iowa Southern building until Monday when they will be delivered to Fort Des Moines.
Included In the display are 400 Christmas favors for the hospital trays, made by the Garden department of the Newton Woman's club for the Camp and Hospital Service committee to be presented to the Fort Des Moines hospital.
Other recent Jasper county donations for service people include 20 phonograph records and needles for the Induction center, . donated by Palo Alto grange, and a record album, given by Mr. and Mrs. Don Mong.
Both Mr. Handling and Mrs. Bradt today expressed appreciation to the community for the splendid response and cooperation given in meeting the goal assigned to Jasper
