Loral Recruiting Office Of Women's Army Corps Closed
The wbmfen's army corps has closed its Hort Dodge recruiting office, locatpd in the State bank building, and enlistments from the 25 counties in this district will be handled by the Sioux City and Waterloo offices.
Lt. Nancy D'Amico, recruiter in charge of the office since it was opened July 7, left today for Springfield, Mo., to report Friday at O'Reilly general hospital.
Pvt. Mary Ann Heininger goes to Fitzsimons general hospital at Denver, Colo.
Miss Heininger joined the local office staff in January after PFC. Julie Madden and PFC. Evelyn Nelson were ordered to Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
In announcing the change, Lt. D'Amico said that recruiting throughout the district had been successful, although the enlistment record in Fort Dodge fell below the average maintained In the remainder of the district.
In the future, enlistments from Webster county will be handled through the Sioux City office. Besides those at Sioux City and Waterloo, the women's army corDs will continue to maintain its offices in Dos Moines, Davenport and Clinton.
"We will miss Fort Dodge," Lt. D'Amico said. "Everyone has been very friendly and we appreciate the cooperation we have received."
