German Bibles Are Wanted For War Prisoners - i
There is urgent need for German Bibles and good books, including song books, for the German prisoners in concentration camps in the United States. Mr. F. Willis Jenks, citizen of Waterloo, learned of the need for these books recently from a chaplain, and he is collecting them and looking after the mailing. Readers of The Grundy Register who have German Bibles in their possession and who have no use for them are asked to either send them to Mr. Jenks at 506 Hammond Ave., Waterloo, Iowa, or to send him a card and let him know about the books. Mr. Jenks is not a Nazi sympathizer and neither can he read a word of German. He is a patriotic citizen who feels that our war prisoners should be treated with the same respect that we hope our boys are receiving at the hands of the Germans.
