SIGNAL CORPS FOR GIRLS FOR U. S. SERVICE
The Army Signal Corps is looking for girls who know how to keep a secret.
Lieut. Richard Diamond will arrive in Fort Dodge on May 10, 11 and 12 to employ girls and women for highly confidential work connected with the war program.
He will be stationed at the U. S. Employment Service office, 210 State Bank Bldge., to recruit applicants who are high school or college graduates. However, appropriate experience may be substituted for the educational requirements in many cases, Lieut. Diamond said.
So closely are these jobs connected with the war program that the ancestry and background of every applicant is checked and re-checked by federal agencies.
"Full salaries, which range from $1750 to $2190 per year, will be paid while these girls and women are learning their work, with most of them assured further employment in private industry when the war is over," Lieut. Diamond said.
Hiring will be done with a minimum of red tape, Lieut. Diamond declared. It is often possible for applicants to be enroute to the job within a few hours after they are interviewed, he sai
