i Local women interested in learning about the Women's Army Corps I will have an opportunity Friday, I Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, July 14, 15, 17 and 18 when S/Sgt. I Mary S. Fry, WAC, will be stationed here. Her office will be lo-j cated at Mayor Martin's office, J phone number 168, where she can be reached during the day or by! appointment in the evening.
S/Sgt. Fry in a statement to this newspaper said, "It isn't quite clear I to some people why we need more I women in the Women's Army Corps, but the answer simple. We need them because many already have the skills we are looking for. We can fit them into Army jobs with I a minimum of training. We can use them on jobs wThere men are seldom as well trained, as efficient, as well suited by temperament or as willing to work as women are." She I will also have information for girls, j ages 17 through 19 for Nurses Cadet Training.
S/Sgt. Fry will be wearing the new uniform when she arrives. The suits and caps made of tropical worsted, have been termed by styl- i ists "the most attractive uniform of all the women's services." , Since the above was written, Sgt. Fry received her orders and will not be in Eagle Grove and Sgt. Dinah Settle will be in charge of the Eagle Grove office on the dates as scheduled.
