EVER WALK BYjONE of those Wave recruiting posters in the post office and wonder how many people actually "do something" about it? Hejte are some statistics:
For every 802 persons in Linn county, men, women and infants, one Wave has enlisted. Breaking" it down further, there is one Wave for every 64..women between the ages of 20 and 36, limits for the WAVES, and one enlisted woman for every 33 otherwise eligible women (those without small children, in good health, with two years of high school and so on).
All of which places Linn county very near the top of the nation in per capita recruitment for the WAVES, for Iowa is high of the 48 states, and there aren't many counties with a better record.
