Book Big Farewell Party at Elks Tuesday
Contrary to a previous announcement, Recruiter Melvin Mc-Dermott, of the Dubuque naval station, and WAVES Ramona Co-lucci and Norette Franssens were at the American Legion celebration in Manchester Monday afternoon and evening, while Ensign Ethel Vessey, in charge of the visiting WAVE board, accompanied Recruiter Dan Hamilton to the North Buena Vista fair.
Both navy groups interviewed all men and women Interested in serving fitn the United States navy.
Recruiter McDermott will bring into Dubuque Tuesday prospective WAVE recruits from Dyersville, Manchester, Oelwein, and Elka-der. These girls are to be given their mental and physical examinations here that afternoon, and will stay over for the big WAVE farewell party to be held at the Elks' club Tuesday evening.
