Dos Moines— The *ii|w prisoner of war camp near* Clarinda, | Iowa, will be opened December | 15, it was announced today by Lieutenant Colonel Courtney P. Young, District Commander of Internal Security.
He said Colonel. Arthur E Dotfbell will be the commanding officer.
Colonel Young asked the public in the vicinity of the camp to use certain safeguards in the e-, vent of escapes.
He explained that escapes Will be rare and that war prisoners generally are quickly caught, but there are certain precautionary measures which the public should observe to aid military and civilian officers.
Colonel Young said residents in the vicinity should keep firearms securely locked; car owners should lock their cars and remove the keys and clothing should not be left on clothes lines at night nor should men's clothing be left in outbuildings.
He pointed out that most of the prisoners will wear fatigue clothes wi!h the
