Grundy Register: "The Italian war prisoners wWl|ere sent here from Camp Clarkf Mo., over a month ago to help talfe^earl} of the hemp icrop in Grundy atfd a^join/ng counties and who have been: housed at the former CCC barracks at Eidora, may be kept here until next spring or later to help out the probable labor shortage on the farms.

crews have been employed here toL help in the stacking of the hemp bothr at the grounds and on a number of i farms. One or two of these groups, will i he* needed to help stack on the Grun-j dy hemp grounds.---- j

Some of them may be needed in the hemp mills after] processing starts. The barracks at El-f dora have been leased for the duration J of the war by the hemp industry. It is i very expensive to move prisoner headquarters and if there is a possibility that the men will be needed here again in the spring they will be housed here during the winter to save the cost of moving them down to Missouri and back again a few months later."
