WAR PRISON CAMP RECEIVES $120 FROM LOCAL USO
Fund Is Pari of the Proceeds From "Donf Darken My Door"; Mrs Collins Presents Check
Ceremonies were held this morning at the war prison, camp for the presentation of $120 by the USO to the camp for use in recreation activities.
This amount, part of the $265.12 collected in proceeds from the play, "Don't Darken My Door," given by the Shenandoah USO players at Clarinda Thursday night, was to be divided into three camp funds.
Presentation was made by Mrs Robert Collins in behalf of the Clarinda U S 0. She was accompanied by Mrs C E Nichols, who represented ticket sales-ladies.
The gift was accepted by Lt-Col Arthur Lobdell, commanding officer, who was introduced by Lt Lawrence Nash, special service officer of the camp.
Sgt John Ramsell, who represented the non-commissioned officers of the camp, thanked the U S O for the presentation.
The hospital fund will receive $35 with $65 added to the recreational fund, and the remaining $20 to be used by the non-commissioned officers' fund.
Floyd Hurdle, president of the USO board of directors, announced that after expense money is deducted from the remaining $145.12, this money will be placed in a general USO recreational fund to be. used for servicemen outside of the camp.--*""'
