--
Commenting on $, dispatch carried by the? Des Moines Register, March 30, fMajor George W Ball, | provost mafshal and in charge of stockades, fcaid that prisoners at the German! prisoner of war camp receive only a very limited ration of beer, provided for by official regulation.
"It may be that the Council Bluffs distributor had his destinations confused. The post exchange, operated exclusively for officers and men- of the United States army, sells beer to its customers. It may be that that is where the shipment was to be delivered," Major Ball said.
There's to be nothing "on the house" for the prisoners, was the conclusion.
