With the arrival of Germjan prisoners of war at the Clarinda camp, Sheriff Zeph Morgan said that all residents of the county should be on the lookout for possible escaped prisoners.
When the Germans first escape, they will be wearing clothing marked with "P. W." Their first efforts will be directed toward getting a change. Clothing should never be left outdoors overnight.
The sheriff advised alii residents to call him if they see strangers whose actions arouse suspicion that they may be escaped prisoners.
