RUMOES OF POW ESCAPES IN CLARINDA ARE FALSE
Due to the fact that night prowlers seem ta' have iheen abroad In Clarinda /during- the past few weeks, there have been many i rumors afloat, .and one of the lat-1 est is to the effect that a number • of prisoners have escaped from the prison camp and might be connected with the same prowlers.
A call to the prison camp relative to the matter brings this information to the public from Col-oel Ball who states that 'ordinarily no attention is paid to such rumors, but because these wild stories have gone so far dn their surmis- j ings, the Colonel desires to be j quoted with the statement that "'there is absolutely no truth in them; that the camp here has had •no escapes."
