Christmas |va| observed in special ways at the PW camp.
Friday evening! a cast of 12 German prisoners, with a choir of 40 prisoner voices, presented a play and pageant, Silent Night, Holy Night, and in order that all prisoners might see it, there were four performances.
Saturday .afternoon a Christt-mas party was given at the Offi/ cers clubhouse for children of officers and enlisted men. There was a Christmas tree, the singing of carols, a gift exchange, and Santa Claus made a personal appearance.
-Sunday 300 prisoners attended midnight mass conducted by the PW German Catholic priest., Special services for protestant prisoners were held Sunday evening and again Monday morn-; ing at 9 a. m. toy the PW Ger-' man Lutheran pastor.
